Cape May is haunted. So, it is no surprise that there are many terror-ific events happening in the next two weeks. There is the Historic Haunts Combo Tour which is a trolley ride and tour of the Emblem Physick Estate. Next, we have the Ghosts of Cape May Trolley Tour that travels past haunted houses in the center of town. I think they are all haunted. If you want to see the haunted houses outside of Cape May proper, just drive through West Cape May, roll down your window, and follow the sounds of the coyotes hollowing at the moon. There is also a Tales of Terror trolley ride where you can listen to Cape May ghost stories. A must do is the Phantoms of Cape May self guided Halloween tour through Cape May ghostly landmarks. Of course, you can always stop in for a Murder Mystery at the Inn of Cape May. How about sitting on the beach? I heard there is a phantom dog that people see coming out of the water at the Point. Whatever your pleasure, Cape May is sure to deliver and frighten this Halloween season.
This weekend is officially the start of our season in Cape May. There are yard sales a plenty, people walking to the beach, owners cleaning out their homes and getting ready for renters, and of course everyone heading to the beach.....Oh, I said that already. Today is one of the prettiest days of the spring season. The sun is out and there is not a cloud in the sky. The sun is going to be very hot today so I would definately choose the beach over sitting in your backyard. The restaurants are all officially open during the week instead of just on weekends. The real estate market is starting to pick up a bit. All in all, it is a great day to be at the Jersey shore. I wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend.
The annual Cape May Food and Wine Festival this year will be from September 20-25, 2008. It has been happening for the past 11 years and should be on your things to do list.
You can go and visit all of the hot spot particapating eateries in Cape May, as well as the Cape May Winery located on Townbank Road just over the bridge.
Throughout the festival week, there will be contests that you can vote in, like the Chowder Contest, and tours that you can take on the trolley that stop at various restaurants. There are also cooking classes and tasting seminars for food, wine and beer.
I hope that you will come out and enjoy all that Cape May has to offer. There are always activities going on throughout the seasons. Come down to Cape May in the fall, you will be glad you did.
The Cape May Food and Wine Festival is presented by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts.
This weekend is the time to come to Cape May County if you are looking to buy a home. I am sure there is a home on this tour that will suit your needs and it is a great time to look at homes without needing an appointment. The dates are April 26th and 27th.
This is the 2nd annual Cape May County open house weekend put on by the Cape May County Association of Realtors. For a list of homes please view www.cmcaor.org.
The homes cover North Cape May, Cape May Beach, Cape May, Cape May Point, and surrounding areas.
The weather here is beautiful, with a little wind, as of Saturday morning.
I hope that you will take advantage of this time to view these homes for your buyer or for yourself.
Have fun.
It seems as if alot of time has past since we have seen the beauty of Spring. But thank goodness, it has come again in all of its' glory. This is a photo of a saucer magnolia that was taken this week at my home. I have found that March and April are great months to take photos outdoors when plant life is starting to take a deep breath and grow.
The sky is always so blue during these two months. I am a complete amateur at photography. So much so that I usually get a perfect picture of one of my fingers. However, lately I have been trying harder and I am quite pleaased at what I have accomplished.
Cape May is not only a great place to vacation and head to the beach, but, to take notice of the specific plant life we have in our area.
I would not recommend this plant if you live within a block from the ocean because of the delicate petals and ocean breezes--not a great combination.
I hope this picture makes you smile.
