The million dollar price range in our market has been very tough over the last couple of years. I'm happy to report that all of the homes (4) that we've staged this year in the 1.0 to 1.5 million dollar range are pending. One went pending in 50 days, which is a miracle in that price range for our area (Sacramento-Roseville, CA). We've been hit hard by the foreclosure crisis but now we are seeing things pick up steam. The bay area seems to remain a hot spot, homes are selling quickly, (I staged my sister's house last week (4/28) in san Jose and already have an offer in). It is crucial for people to stage their homes before they hit the market. The home that sold in 50 days had been on the market in the fall of '09 and didn't sell. The owner had a collection of clocks (65) in all that hindered the view of the home's interior. I told him he could have one clock per room and to also declutter some of the older furniture. Here's a new listing in Granite Bay we just staged last week. This is a beautiful Tory Built Custom home on a three quarter acre lot with views of a greenbelt. In this case we used mostly the owners furniture and we added some rented furniture to update and then tied everything together with our accessories. The "WOW" Factor Home Staging Team finished the vacation rental in Pebble Beach over the weekend. Dawna went down and did the final touches and it's ready for rental. When we first saw the home it was vacant so everything you see in the home we purchased and brought down from Sacramento. It's located in the heart of Pebble Beach Golf courses and downtown Carmel. She was also an artist and painted the oriental pictures you see in one of the bedrooms.
THE "WOW FACTOR" HOME STAGING TEAM is heading off to Pebble Beach in a couple of weeks to redesign a vacation home for a local client. We've picked out the furniture and accessories for the three bedroom home near the beach. This is a new vacation home and the owner wants it ready to rent for the upcoming AT&T Golf Tournament in early Feb. 2010. The home has undergone extensive remodeling with granite counters, new floors, and new paint throughout. There is also a small one bedroom guest house in the back yard area. We can't wait to head down to the beach for this wonderful opportunity!
