Breakfast Is Back in East Hampton

A breakfast will be held at Fowler-Dix-Park VFW Post 5095 located at 20 North Maple St, East Hampton, CT on Sunday Aug 17 from 8-11am. Breakfast consists of eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fires, toast, coffee, juice & fruit. Cost is $6 per person and all are welcome to attend. East Hampton Soccer Club Store Open

The East Hampton Soccer Club Store is officially open for business.he club store resides withing the camp store at Nelson's Family Campground on Mott Hill Rd, East Hampton, CT. Store inventory includes sweatshirts, soccer mom T shirts, car magnets and soccer socks. Samples are on display with additional items available on request. Store hours are Sunday-Thursday 9am-7pm and Friday-Saturday until 10pm. Proceeds from Team Store sales support East Hampton Soccer Club programs including: scholarships, field improvements and maintenance, and coaching education.

Portland Girls Soccer Alumni Night

Portland High School (PHS) Girls Soccer will have an Alumni Night, Sat Aug 16 at 7pm at the PHS varsity field, 95 High St, Portland, CT. The game will be a night exhibition game (played under the lights) between the 2008 varsity team and PHS alumni. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children/students. You can take $1 off admission if you wear a Portland soccer jersey or if you are a PHS alumnus.

East Hampton Free BMX Clinic

BMX riders may join their peers for a free clinic at the Summer Skatepark at Center School, 7 Summit Street, East Hampton, CT, weekdays 8am-noon from Monday Aug 11 through Friday Aug 22. The clinic is sponsored in part by the Middlesex County Substance Abuse Action Council. Kids must bring helmets and have a waiver signed by their parent. Snacks and beverages will be provided daily. Portland Tai Chi At Senior Center

A new 10 week session of Tai Chi will begin at the Portland Senior center, 7 Waverly Ave, Portland, CT, on Aug 15. Ta Chi is a program of slow moving exercise that helps to promote good balance and stress management and relieve stiffness in joints. It promotes good health and is recommended by the American Arthritis Foundation. The class is taught by Master Joy and is open to both beginner and continuing students over the age of 50.
