Our neighboring 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise partner was on the NBC Morning show with Marianne Kushi this morning. 1-800-GOT-JUNK? was brought in as an expert on local recycling sources as we put so much effort into using various resources to donate and recycle the junk we pick up.

At 1-800-GOT-JUNK we have continued to do a number of REO trashouts on foreclosures in Carlsbad and San Diego County. Last week, we helped the team south of us in La Jolla on a particularly large foreclosure in La Jolla. The client required 50 before, after and action shots for the bank and we were able to provide them the same day. Within 24 hours of the initial inquiry, we had removed several truckloads of junk and provide all the documentation required. Here are a couple of the before and after shots of a particularly dirty basement.

Something that we get asked a lot is whether 1-800-GOT-JUNK? does work for commercial entities as well as at residences. In fact, 1-800-GOT-JUNK? does a large amount of junk removal for businesses in offices, warehouses, work-sites, etc.

Commercial customers appreciate many of the same things about our business that residents do at their homes: that we show up on time, that we provide good value for service and that our drivers are profession, friendly and uniformed. Additionally, we are able to provide documentation or certificates of insurance and workers compensation, which is something required to work in many multi-tenant buildings. In fact, most months 30-40% of the customers we assist are commercial clients. That number grows each year as customers realize they can utilze us at their offices just like they do at their homes.

We had a good example of this last week. A pharmaceutical company was completely moving out of a large facility and but at the last minute found they were unable to donate large amounts of office furniture and equipment they would no longer need. They called us on Friday, we went out to assess the situation and, since they needed to be out ASAP, we arranged to provide all needed insurance documentation and have three trucks and truck teams arrive first thing Monday. I project managed the workers and we were able to remove 8 truckloads of junk - spread throughout multiple stories and offices - by the end of the day. The customer was ecstatic that they could turn over the keys to the building owner, and that we, of course, were able to recycle a large amount of the junk.
