PALM CITY HORSE TALK: FARMS AND FAMILY GO TOGETHER

These two little girls have grown up on my farm in Palm City. This is Summer and Hattie, my two wonderful grandchildren. The smiles that you see on their face makes it worth all the work and joy that goes into living on a farm.

These little girls love horses and look forward to coming to see us every weekend. When they come, they always bring their dogs, Shep and Trig. They love to groom Duchess and their other favorite horses. These are treasured days. They have also learned the safety rules of being around horses. The fun part has been watching them understand how a horse reacts in certain situations. They started riding at a very early age.

PALM CITY, FLORIDA...PARTY TIME ON THE FARM IN PALM CITY FARMS

There are not many times one gets bored in Palm City Farms. There are so many family things to do. One fun event was when we invited friends and neighbors to a big party to celebrate just a good time. We decided to bring in all kinds of entertainment for small children. This beautiful Clydsdale came to our farm for this event and we hauled everyone up and down our street until late in the evening. The children just loved it. We had pony rides for the little ones and individual riders took their horses on separate paths. Some fished in our lake and others just listened to the band. This is just an example of the great family life that one has in this little place called Palm City Farm, Florida. We are all lucky enough to have land large enough to have country living and our equestrian farms. Palm City's equestrian community is growing everyday. We just have so much to offer. We have Old Florida living.

Stuart, Florida, The Roosevelt Bridge

Many people probably do not think about how easy it is to run across the Roosevelt Bridge and zoom into the shopping center. It was not that easy to do before the new Roosevelt Bridge was constructed in 1996. I moved to the Stuart area in 1990 and remember how difficult it was to get to Jensen Beach.

No one ever thinks about the brave people that built this bridge plus all the difficulties of suspending concrete in air to connect with another span. I happened to be involved a little with this bridge, as so many other people were. My husband was the project manager for this beautiful bridge so I knew about every problem that happened on this project. The men and woman that worked so hard for this beautiful bridge have gone on to other things in life. Some are still building bridges, some are not here any more. I think about all of these people and wonder just how much our community appreciates this beautiful concrete structure and even give it a thought as to how much effort was put into it by the hard working construction team. What a great gift they have contributed to Stuart and our surrounding areas. This is one of my husbands pictures that was taken after it was completed. Enjoy and come to Martin County. It is beautiful.

PALM CITY'S HORSE TALK....EQUESTRIAN LIVING IS ENJOYING LIFE WITH FRIENDS

There are many things to do in Florida. One favorite thing I enjoy is having a big "Get Together" party of friends and neighbors. It is always fun to bring in a local band, have ponies available for children to ride. Don't leave out the adults because trail riding is after lunch. This is one of the gatherings that we had for a friend that was approaching his 40th birthday. This little girl had a ball riding Duchess.
