This is the time of year that I look forward to. The trees and flowers are in full bloom, the weather is warm and inviting and the launch ramp at the lake is busy depositing families w/ their boats for the start of our summer season!

The Lake Arrowhead Village offers free concerts on weekends throughout the summer. This Memorial weekend features 6 different bands. The Bob Segar tribute band will be popular as well as "The Fenians" who perform classic celtic rock n roll on Friday night.! If you cant make it up this weekend, next Friday June 5th is the Heart Tribute which is my favorite. See you there!! The series is the largest free admission concert series in Southern California.

On June 6th, the lake will host the 25th annual antique and Clasic Wooden boat show. Dozens and dozens of gorgeous vintage "woody" boats will parade around Lake Arrowhead and be docked at the village on display. While your here, eat at Woodys boat house dockside and enjoy the best salad and soup bar on the planet while enjoying the view!

Every Friday night the village offers a FREE market night where you can buy fresh fruit and veggies from local growers. Many other booths throughout the village where visitors and locals can stroll around enjoying the festive atmosphere. Come on up!

On June 27 and 28th, the village will host the 14th annual Mountain Home Improvement Expo. If you're looking for unique mountain ideas for your home or garden, this is the relaxed atmosphere to find it in.

The Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa in in Lake Arrowhead, Ca. Originally built as the Hilton back in the early 1980's, it is now the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa. WWW.laresort.com The resort just went through an extensive 20 million dollar renovation and now resembles an Aspen or Vail lodge in Colorado. The resort is located on the shores of Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino mountain range. Only about an hour from most of Southern California cities and beaches. Once you walk through the front doors, you'll feel right at home in the relaxed, comfortable yet upscale atmosphere where you can even bring your small dog! The staff is wonderful and provide lots of fun things to do while you're visiting, especially for the kids. My family has a membership at the resort and seriously, if I could live there... I'd move in. We work out in the great gym/spa and they offer a variety of exercise classes including Pilates by Sandy..(you have to try a class.. Sandy is the best Pilates instructor that I've ever found!) The Spa offers professional skin treatments, massages and much more in upscale style. Ask for Tina Lanthier when booking an appointment. She is wonderful! (Tell Tina I sent you) My husband and I love to come down to the restaurant in the resort called Bin 189.. We just live a mile away.. Having a glass of wine and tapas by the fireplace with the lake views is wonderful. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is perfect. My husband and I will book a room to stay even though we live around the corner.. It's just like a little vacation!

Of course, the economy has had a tough time. Homeowners are losing their homes and jobs and the news media seem to only report on the negative bringing more fear into the economy. I heard today, "What goes up, must come down" and Lake Arrowhead home prices have done that. The Lake Arrowhead real estate market was at the "peak" in 2006 after prices sky-rocketed up. Many homeowners bought during that time and my advice to them is ~hold on~ if you can. Now in early 2009, Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding community prices are very low and "back to normal." I believe nowis a huge buying opportunity in the San Bernardino Mountains. We were not as affected as the rest of Southern California because we are a "year round resort." Buyers love being able to drive to beautiful destination only about an hour from most of Southern California and be able to experience peace and family time after working and living full time in the city. I've been here in Paradise for 30 years and wouldn't leave for anything. I grew up here and now my kids get to experience the same mountain fun my husband and I had when we were young. There are so many things to do up here but my favorite is to sit on my big, beautiful deck of our log home and look at the lake and mountain views. I love to BBQ every night and look forward to the smells that Spring and Summer bring. Right now, I'm writing my blog looking at the lake with a few feet of snow on the ground.. Any season is gorgeous in Arrowhead and we actually do have 4 Seasons!

We had a walk in client this morning that decided to drive up from the valley and play in the snow. They've been in Arrowhead a few times and decided to talk to a Realtor at Remax Lake Arrowhead to see if there was anything in their price range .They had been toying with the idea of a 2nd home since it was only 63 miles from their primary home in the city. They were so excited that they could purchase a brand newhouse near the lake for about $360K. They're going home to get pre-qualified and coming back to choose their home over the next few weeks.
