This morning(like most mornings) I went on Google and typed in who is Dyersburg's most tech savvy realtor?
I did this on a whim without knowing what to expect. I have several blogs including my activerain blog and it was two of those localism blog posts that showed up. One was number 2 on the first page and thge other was number 4 on the first page. The NAR site came up Number one.
I wonder if homeowners will search for Dyersburg's most tech savvy realtor and use him to list and market their home? I sure hope so:)
A friend of mine, Jimmy Cooper just shared with me a story in yesterday's Memphis Commercial Appeal about Reelfoot Lake.
I have mentioned Reelfoot Lake many times in my blogs so wanted to make sure you read this article. Reelfoot Lake is located about 25 miles north of Dyersburg near the towns of Tiptonville amd Samburg.
This is one of my favorite places to fish for crappie, bream, bass and catfish. I suspect I will be on that lake sometime later this week or early next week.
Not only is it a great place to fish but it is also a great place to camp or hunt!
I just wanted to help get the word out about a resource fair to help laid off or displaced workers in the Dyersburg,Tn area. As you may know Dyersburg has a few plants directly related to the auto industry and as such have had many laid off recently.

Chamber to Present Resource Fair for Dislocated/Laid-Off Workers
The Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce has partnered with several area and state agencies to present a Resource Fair for dislocated/laid-off workers. The event is scheduled for April 7th from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Lannom Center.
“The current state of the economy has caused an increase in local unemployment. We saw the need to provide information to unemployed workers concerning available job training and resources to help get them through these tough times,” stated Chamber President/CEO Allen Hester. “By bringing these local and state agencies together, dislocated workers have the opportunity to find out what agencies are available to provide assistance,” Hester continued.
“One of the programs represented will be Workforce Investment Act (WIA). This is a program for dislocated workers where funds are available for their training/retraining,” stated Henry Lewis with the Northwest Tennessee Workforce Board. Lewis will be on hand with Brian Collins with the Tennessee Technology Center and additional staff members to discuss the new classes that will be offered in addition to those already in existence at the TTC’s.
Dr. Mary Ann Sellars, Vice President for Dyersburg State Community College; Cindy Fisher, Coordinator of the College Nursing Program; and Doug Teague, Dean of Business and Technology, will have information on DSCC programs that prepare students for high demand/high salary positions. Other participants will include Ronnie Gunnells with the Tennessee Career Center, Beth Bell with the UT Extension Office, Debbie Todd with The United Way, David Duncan with the Department of Human Services, and Janie Alexander with CoverTN and Cover Kids, who will be on hand to provide information on available programs and resources.
The Resource Fair is free and open to the public.
