We do what we call “Seller Reporting” for many of our clients. This is simply a gathering each month, week, etc of the hits their listing has received on various sites. This feature is available on many sites (Zillow, Realtor.com, VisualTour & more) and is typically very user friendly. This keeps your sellers in the loop and also makes them feel they have not been forgotten! A very important thing in today’s market, where sometimes listings remain on the market for longer than usual.
We used to have to manually send these VisualTour hit reports through their system, which worked fine, but was a bit time consuming. They are now offering the ability to schedule the reports to be sent out on a daily or weekly basis. This is a GREAT new feature that everyone should be taking advantage of. See the example to the right of the report that is sent to your seller.
It takes less than five minutes to put in your personalized message and an email address, then you pick the day you want the reports to be sent each week and that’s it! Once you have set up a seller, you can just forget about it! VisualTour will automatically remove the reporting once the listing is no longer active.
I highly recommend utilizing this tool if you use VisualTour, and if you don’t you should definitely consider sending your sellers reporting on the sites you do use. It gives them peace of mind and puts you a step ahead of your competitors - It’s also a great thing to add to your pre-list presentation - Sellers will be impressed!
The best part is, this is the perfect task to have your VA take care of. At RealSupport, we set up a reoccurring task, and the reporting goes out each month without our clients having to think twice about it!

I recently discovered that when I do a Google search on certain phrases that have a geographic location, I get a return from Google that has the Google Maps results at the very top.
Why does this matter? It is free Google placement at the very top of the page. For example, do a quick search for “Real Estate Agent in YourTown, YourState”. You will notice that most of the returns that come up are agents/companies that have enhanced their listing though Google Maps. I enhanced one client's Google Maps listing and now they are at the top of the list. (Not sure how long it will last, but we'll take it!)
I did a few searches this way for several of our clients. What I found was that most were at least listed, but they were displaying as “unverified” and worse, they didn’t have the correct information and in all cases, they did not have as much information as they could have.

Whether you or your Real Estate Virtual Assistant are writing your press releases, you are probably wondering if you’re sending and/or submitting them to the best places or websites. Are they getting picked up and are you getting the exposure you deserve?
How would YOU like to know what the reporters WANT or NEED to write about? Now you can.
I was at a conference over the weekend and one of the presenters shared this secret with us and I wanted to pass it along to all of you.
Peter Shankman (CEO, Entrepreneur & Adventurist) started HARO - Help a Reporter Out - a website that allows you to provide basic contact info (name & email address) and each day you'll receive up to three emails, each with anywhere from 15-30 queries from reporters LOOKING for sources!
Peter explains more on the Help a Reporter Out Website including sharing that his list was originally conceived on Facebook, but since Facebook caps group emails at 1,200 people, the HARO Website is the next incarnation.
These requests that Peter receives (and passes on) only come from reporters directly to him. He never take queries from that other service, and promises to never SPAM, and lastly he’s not going to do anything with your email other than send you these reporter requests when they arrive in his inbox.
If you don’t have a PR (public relations) campaign or plan, you need one. Ask your Real Estate Virtual Assistant for options and ideas. Sending out and submitting press releases consistently is an amazingly easy way to get the exposure you deserve!
Make it a wonderful week!

At first, when various sites began "feeding" or sending information to Zillow, we got excited. It seemed it would be less work and save our clients money. Just let your listings automatically "feed" through to Zillow, it seems like it should be so easy. We have found some thorns on this rose since then, and I'm sure others are experiencing the same thing.
Many of our clients have their listings feeding into what Zillow calls "dummy" accounts. These accounts do not have profile photos, links to your website, nothing. You cannot access these accounts, therefore, you cannot change profile information, listing photos or information, etc. This has become a real issue for us and our clients and we have spent countless hours troubleshooting issues with these automatic feeds (incorrect information on listings and more).
This post is not to vent or point the finger at Zillow, but more to ask if anyone else is experiencing the same things and if anyone has been able to find a reasonable solution. If you have, PLEASE SHARE!
We love Zillow and the service it provides, and the bottom line is consumers are using it, so we have to as well. So, if anyone over at Zillow is reading, we would love to talk and try to figure some of these issues out - to make your service better and our lives easier! Feel free to contact me at the number below!
