I thought this article on Forbes.com was interesting because it talks about how the IRS is actively looking through real estate deeds to squeeze out a "gift tax". Apparently this tax can be collected even when real estate is given as a gift between 2 parties (i.e. grandfather to his grandchildren or mother to daughter). The article states that the gift tax is the most "notoriously uncollected" tax but that this is changing with the help of public records at county recorders offices and a lot of investigative effort by the IRS. While some states like California are trying to protect their residents and are refusing to give up information on the gift tax, others, like Florida, are complying. The IRS is focusing on property gifted to children, grandchildren and other beneficiaries. I guess when it comes to collecting money nothing is sacred to the IRS.

It is wonderful to know that our cars in Newton Centre will be ticketed faster, with less work for the meter "maids" (what is PC for this? meter manager? meter service representative? meter terror? just kidding)...and cost our employees and customers more stress and money as they come to "The Centre" to do business with us. Good to know that my/ our tax dollars are buying these high priced tools to tax us even more. I think it is great! Buy a house from me personally and I will pay any ticket you might have received when coming to my office...do we have a deal? :-)
Sandy Poodlestern can be found on Facebook at:

Sandy is my dog (actually my wife's dog...I wanted the Alaskan Huskey). People love to know a bit about you before they do business with you, and FB is a perfect place to link up, share photos and stories (doggie pictures etc) and even share leads/ business. In this case I figured why not go a bit beyond having Sandy's photos on my page...I would give her her very own page. That was last Friday when it was cloudy, rainy and cold...a perfect day to have some fun. So what did I do? I gave Sandy Poodlestern her own page. What happened? She has more friends in three days than I had after a year!
Sandy might not be bringing me business and leads yet (as advertised by this blog's title) but I predict in no time that she will introduce me to new friends and business. Afterall, this business we are in is all about netwoking and friends when you really boil it down.
Remember my previous FB blog where I told you that 5,001 friends was the limit. Get over to Sandy's page fast and ask to be her friend...she's a very popular doggie. Woof!
