Summer Stager's Meet Up Was Colorful, Moving and Sooooo Tweet!!!!

Michelle Minch, professional home stager and owner of Moving Mountain Design, and Brook Furniture Rental in Sherman Oaks hosted the Summer Stager's Meet Up Friday July 17.

Ricardo Bueno, social media expert and consultant with The Real Estate Tomato, is known as Ribeezie on twitter. He spoke on the importance and the popularity of twitter, facebook and blogging. He shared new technology tips with us. Ricardo is the founder of the REBar Camp in LA. His presentation was awesome and he will be speaking at the RESA Convention in January.

After an incredible lunch hosted by Brook Furniture Rental our next speaker

Penny Balogh, CSI, ASID IF Member Account Excecutive, Sherwin-Williams presented the 2010 colormix forecast. The past transforms the present in fresh colors that simplify a complex world.

Rooted

mystery, enduring, natural

It's human instinct to seek the safety of the tribe. In today's complicated world, there's something deeply satisfying about re-exploring the world's oldest, most enduring cultures. African, Aboriginal and Native American influences are converging to create a new tribal style with a drumbeat all its own. The colors are rich and earthy, with a hint of mystery. The appeal is as natural as the elements.

Treasured

aging, layers, artisan

A throwaway society? That's so yesterday. We're now making savvy, resourceful use of what we have, discovering untold stories in exposed, painted layers. From flea-market finds to artisan-made pieces, imperfections can lend rich character to our environments. The palette reflects the beauty of natural aging, mellowing and weathering, evoking quality materials that have stood the test of time and become heirlooms.

Simplified

translucent, structure, sophisticated

"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." That timeless wisdom from Leonardo da Vinci is now a modern mantra. Less is clearly the new more. But the aesthetic is artful rather than austere, with well-tailored lines and sheer, translucent materials that reveal shape and structure. Clarity and integrity are critical. We need to know and trust what we're bringing into our environments. The hues are calm, subtle and nuanced, with undertones that shift according to their surroundings, for easy versatility.

Refreshed

exuberant, fresh, optimism

Tropical blooms. Sunny days. Playful exploration. It's time to take a vacation and let our cares melt away. Happy spaces are here again, bringing fresh florals, bright juicy colors and exuberant combinations. It's the kaleidoscopic spirit of the '60s married to the jewel tones of the '80s, with a global twist. Cultural influences and motifs mingle freely, creating a bohemian mosiac that sings in perfect harmony.

Ram Katalan, President of North Star Moving gave us helpful tips on wrapping, stacking and storing. His company is highly rated and no job is too large or too small. They'll move our clients any where in the world!

The best news is the trucks run on biodiesel fuel. Go Green Power!

I am back home in Northern California now and missing my talented stager friends and my family in SoCalifornia. Wish we had these events more often!! Thank you Michelle, Brook Furniture and the exceptional speakers. It was an awesome day! Maybe you recognize a few fabulous stagers...

Shell Brodnax, Connie Tebyani, Wendy Timmons, Janice Sutton, Lori Kim Polk and Stacy Bissel is in the front next to Connie.

Mike Robbins was the guest speaker at CCRIM yesterday. He gave an inspiring message to all in attendance.

Mike, a retired professional baseball player with the Kansas City Royals, believes the key to success is found in the power of appreciation and expressing our own authenticity. His new, best selling book was released in April.

Mike believes insight without actions makes no difference.
