Keeneland or The Kentucky Derby?

Have you ever made a "bet" at the Keeneland Race Track in Lexington, Kentucky? If so, I "bet" you didn't bother to take the twenty minute drive west to the small town of Lawrenceburg. Have you ever made a "bet" at the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Kentucky? If so, I "bet" you didn't bother to take the forty-five minute drive to the friendly town of Lawrenceburg. As a matter of fact, I would bet that you didn't even know that Lawrenceburg is centrally located between these two metropolitan cities of Kentucky. Thus, Lawrenceburg has many options for dining, shopping, and entertainment in almost any direction... whether the Martha Lane Collins parkway, or I-64.

This quaint town is located in an almost perfect area. Lawrenceburg is only a ten minute drive from Frankfort, Kentucky's state capital. Lawrenceburg also offers alot of scenery and has many historical locations to visit. We have a very large distillery which is known all over the country and a beautiful winding bridge overlooking the Kentucky river. Just moments up the road, there is the Old Fort Harrod park in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, which is attracts many visitors each year. All of these aspects make Lawreceburg a great place to visit. It's all about Lawrenceburg KY

Come home to the lovely Lawrenceburg, KY. It is not where the buffalo roam, but the deer sure do play. Sometimes it is hard during our deer season to miss them as they go prancing across the highways. We record many deer in the headlights accidents.

Another item of interest in the rolling hills of Anderson County are the beautiful farms. There are some farmers that still raise tobacco and several that raise corn and hay crops.

Lawrenceburg is only about 10,000 people and life is ran at a much slower pace than the big city life. Most everyone knows someone and who is going to jail this week or next. It is sometimes like a big family in our little town.

Our annual Burgoo festival is great entertainment for everyone. It occurs the last weekend of September in downtown Lawrenceburg every year. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend.

Want to know why Lawrenceburg, KY is the Burgoo Capital of the world? Come visit us in September and get a taste of the Burgoo and enjoy the small town life of Lawrenceburg.

AR members replace TUMS!

Wow, it has been an active week on AR for me! I had a featured blog and didn't even know what that meant. Created a lot more indigestion. My TUMS ran out after about 15 minutes of searching AR for all the answers. Then it dawned on me, "ask the people leaving the comments". So that is what I did and I didn't have to run to Walmart to get more TUMS! I thank all my fellow Active Rainers that commented and answered all my silly questions like, what is a gold star, what is a feature, and why am I getting so many comments? AR members became my TUMS!

The same sort of thing happened to me in my real estate career. I had been working so hard to prove myself, get deals put together and just be successful that I didn't realize my team had achieved the highest volume in sales in our county. Someone in my office had to tell me we were #1. I sometimes wish they hadn't told me and maybe, just maybe I would still be working as hard to get there.

I am starting to think the same thing about my feature in AR. If I hadn't known that I had a featured blog, I would be writing all kinds of stuff. That was what I was doing before. Now I am trying to top the last one and may never get another feature. I may need more TUMS before this is all over!

Does anyone know why or how you get a feature? Is there a series of steps? What did I do that made that blog so great?

Here is the link to my featured blog. Ever had AR indigestion? Check it out and tell me why it was a winner. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Why live in Lawrenceburg KY?

Oh, there's no place like home? Where have you heard that before? Well, Dorothy wanted to go home to Kansas, but I want to stay at home in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Why, you might ask. Have you ever seen the rolling hills of central Kentucky? Just drive about 25 miles west of Lexington, past Keeneland Race Track and the beautiful horse farms, then you enter this quiet, little community called Lawrenceburg.

Lawrenceburg is known for it great schools, low crime rate and family environment. We are a bedroom community to our state capital, Frankfort and our larger cities, Lexington and Louisville. A lot of people live in Lawrenceburg and commute the 30 to 45 minutes for their jobs. They want to come home, like Dorothy, to what they love.!

Real estate in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky is very affordable compared to surrounding areas. A lot of people feel they are able to buy larger homes for a lot less money and lower tax rates. There are still many farms in Anderson County adding beautiful views to the town.

Lawrenceburg is also known for our famous "S" bridge that crosses the Kentucky River.

In addition are our two distilleries, Wild Turkey and Four Roses. We also have the Lovers Leap Winery.

Wild turkey whiskey and wild weather in Lawrenceburg Kentucky!

I know many of you wish you lived in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky where Wild Turkey Whiskey is distilled on a daily basis. We have, not only a good whiskey, but some real interesting stories of when some have nipped too long on the wild drink. I can't share all the stories in my blog, so come visit our quaint exciting town!

Have some of you been wondering if last weeks ice storm stalled the Wild Turkey production? No need for alarm. Our town made sure to keep the electric and water supply available to keep the Wild Turkey flowing! Last report is that there is still plenty to go around.

I haven't partaken of this wild drink even though I was born and raised just a few miles from the distillery. However, with this weather we are enduring I think a nip may be necessary! This crazy ice storm last week knocked out power for over seven hundred thousand people across our state. The ice was so thick on the road that it was like riding across a camel's back. Finally on Sunday, the ice melted and I thought life was back to normal, but luck was not in my favor. I awoke this morning to another round of mother nature and another day of not being able to do my real estate job. I thought this morning that it would be nice if I lived closer to that distillery because a drink may have made matters a little better! Well, instead, I decided if I can't drink and I can't work in the snow and ice, I would just play in the rain. Here I am again!
