Managing Your Day- How to be More Effective

I found this good advice in AARP magazine- the magazine for those of us who are over 50 ( and proud of it).

It's written by Jane Pauley in the March /April 2011 edition.

Her advice to people like us who are our own bosses is: HAVE A ROUTINE and stick to it.

This applies especially to a morning routine. If you have a morning routine and stick to it religiously, it starts your day on the right foot and allows you to face the work day with added focus and energy. As she states in her article: " Better start-up does produce better follow- through."

I am trying to follow that advice myself. Get up at an appropiate time, say my morning prayers, get to the gym for a good work out, eat a healthful, filling breakfast and then I am set. Then I know that key essentials of my day have already been accomplished and it gives me the push and the motivation to tackle the rest of the day tasks.

We in real estate, don't have a boss/task master standing over us. Of course we have hours of work to do every day. But to stay focused towards achieving our goals, starting the day with a strict routine is a tremendous advantage. Go for it!
