Schlitterbahn will announce plans for a new water park in Cedar Park on Thursday, January 28.

The announcement about the new Schlitterbahn park will take place during Cedar Park’s City Council meeting Thursday evening at the Cedar Park Public Library.

City of Cedar Park Offers Free Christmas Tree Recycling

Don't throw that tree in the trash! The City of Cedar Park, Texas will accept trees for recycling in the City Hall parking lot on January 9th, 2010. If you plan to drop off a tree, City officChristmas tree recycling in Cedar Parkials request that you remove all decorations, ornaments and stands.

Tree mulch will be used for city landscaping, and you can receive a free seedling (while they last) for recycling your holiday tree compliments of the City.

Round Rock Ranks Among Safest Cities for Fifth Consecutive Year

Round Rock announced this week that it was one of the FBI's safest cities in America for the fifth straight year.

The city is ranked No. 1 among the 31 Texas cities with population 100,000 or greater. Overall, Round Rock moved up to No. 18 this year, after being ranked as the 19th-safest city larger than 75,000 residents in 2008.

The City reports that in the most recent survey, 332 metropolitan areas and 393 cities were considered using statistics released by the Uniform Crime Reporting Program of the FBI in September 2009.
