Transylvania Regional Hospital (TRH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dick Larson to the Hospital’s Board of Trustees. Formed in 1933 with the mission to serve the healthcare needs of the community, they remain true to that commitment by providing state-of-the-art healthcare delivered with the personal attention.
Larson is a full-time resident of Connestee Falls, where he and his wife, Sue, have lived since 1995. Larson worked for 33 years for The Quaker Oats Co. in Chicago where he retired as a vice president of operations. He has extensive senior management experience in strategic planning, financial analysis and control, cost improvement, capital planning, total quality, organization re-engineering and human resources. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and completed the Executive Education Program at Harvard Business School.
Larson’s broad executive experience in planning should be an excellent fit for the Board’s fiduciary role. “Dick’s vast experience in strategic planning and analysis should serve the hospital and this community well as we move forward with important initiatives in the coming months to ensure that we continue to have a strong, high-quality local healthcare system,” said Bob Bednarek, president and CEO of Transylvania Regional Hospital. “With all the changes that may happen in healthcare at the national level, Dick’s experience leading complex organizations internationally will help our hospital in meeting the needs of this community in the rapidly changing healthcare environment.”
A 94-bed facility, fully accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), Transylvania Regional Hospital offers comprehensive services through more than 120 active, consulting and courtesy physicians representing a full spectrum of specialties. They offer many support programs to increase access to healthcare and educational seminars to help take control of your health.
