Charlotte NC Homes for Sale in Barclay Downs Neighborhood

Barclay Downs is an established neighborhood of over 400 homes located literally right next door to SouthPark Mall, considered by many to be the premier mall in the Carolina area.

The neighborhood lies in an area bordered by Park Road to the west, Runnymede to the north, Sharon Road to the east, and Fairview Road to the south. Barclay Downs Road runs north/south from Runnymede to Fairview Road and dissects the neighborhood providing excellent access from both directions.

The subdivision was developed in the late 50’s to early 60’s and features all brick traditional style homes which are typical of Charlotte during that era. This was a time when homes were built by craftsmen from the ground up and that craftsmanship still endures today. Barclay Downs has a mix of homes for sale with ranches, split levels, and 2 story homes ranging in size from 1500 to over 3500 square feet. Prices will range from the $200’s to the $600’s.

Barclay Downs is even more popular today due to the quality of life enhanced by the local Barclay Downs Homeowners Association and its Swim and Racquet Cub. The Myers Park High School cluster is also a major draw to the community.

Heritage Green, Cornelius NC Homes for Sale

Heritage Green is a great subdivision for first time home buyers featuring uniquely styled traditional single family homes. It is conveniently located on Old Statesville Road (Highway 115) in Cornelius just north of Sam Furr Road exit 25 on I-77. This is considered an ideal location due to the proximity to the towns of Cornelius, Huntersville, and Davidson, as well as the ease of getting around via I-77.

At Heritage Green, you are close to every amenity imaginable including a huge shopping complex at Sam Furr Road and Statesville Road (Hwy 21) just a mile or two away. Park Crossing, South Charlotte NC Homes for Sale

The Park Crossing neighborhood is ideally located near the intersection of Park Road and Johnston Road in South Charlotte. Interstate 485 and Highway 51 (Pineville-Matthews Road) are just behind the community and are waiting to take you anywhere you want to go.

The community was developed in the mid 1980's and it still is highly popular due to its meandering, tree lined streets and its location, which is close to schools and shopping. In addition to being close to local public schools, Carolinas Medical Center - Pineville is right around the corner, as well as, every medical specialty in the book.

Carolina Place Mall is also within minutes of Park Crossing. The Ballantyne area, Arboretum, and SouthPark can also be reached in a few minutes drive. And, if that's not enough, there are scores of shopping and dining options along Park Road, Johnston Road, and Hwy 51!

Park Crossing Recreation Club (PCRC) is a separate club membership from the Park Crossing Owners Association. The club amenities include swimming pool, tennis courts, playground and 2 sand volleyball courts. The club also offers a wide range of activities for the members. There is an extensive tennis program, a swim team program, and a social committee, which offers social events throughout the year.

First Time Home Buyer Communities, NE Charlotte, Homes for Sale

Charlotte has some great communities in the northeast part of the city, which are close to the University area, I-485, and the Speedway. These neighborhoods offer easy access to any part of town you would wish to go and provide great affordability, a quality environment and desirable amenities. Here are just a few.

KINGSTREE

Kingstree is located just minutes from I-485 next to the Charles T. Meyers public golf course. This 1,300-home master plan community sits beautifully on 300 acres in the northeast area of Charlotte. There are 2 entrances to the community, one on Robinson Church Road and one on Harrisburg Road, which increases the neighborhood's access and provides greater convenience.

Neighborhood features include tree-lined backyards and scenic walking paths throughout the community. Centrally located is a family recreation facility with Junior Olympic size pool, cabana, playgrounds, and a community center.

BRADFIELD FARMS

The community of Bradfield Farms lies east of uptown Charlotte in an unincorporated part of Mecklenburg County. The main entrance to this neighborhood of is on Reedy Creek Road near the Harrisburg Road/I-485 interchange. Bradfield Farms was developed in the early 1990's with homes being built primarily by Centex Homes, although other quality builders, such as Crosland, Hovnanian, Torrey, and Fortis each built a section.

Charlotte NC Homes for Sale in Providence Hills

Providence Hills, a highly popular south Charlotte subdivision noted for its exception community life is located at McKee and Pleasant Plains Roads. This is a family-oriented neighborhood with large, beautiful homes, spacious lots, and mature landscaping. The physical address of the community is Matthews and the location makes it convenient to the many shopping options that are in this area of the city.

The Providence Hills community clubhouse features a large multipurpose room with a gas log fireplace and big-screen TV, recreational area, and full kitchen. Other neighborhood amenities include swimming pool, baby pool, lighted tennis courts, newly installed playground, and a large patio area with lounge chairs and tables for the relaxation of the residents. Bathrooms and changing areas are also conveniently located next to the pool.

The Providence Hills Community Association (PHCA) is an active HOA which governs the community and is responsible for the clubhouse, amenities, and the common areas of the subdivision. The community offers a variety of activities to residents including several social and special events each year. The PHCA also strives to keep its residents connected and safe by offering a community e-mail link, monthly newsletter, message boards, and a Neighborhood Watch program.

The neighborhood was developed by John Wieland with the cooperation of Charlotte’s leading custom home builders. The development includes more than 250 homes on wooded lots ranging in size from one half to one and a half acres. Typical homes are transitional in style two stories with full brick veneer and some with basement. Homes range in size from 3000 to 4000 square feet of living space and priced in the $300’s and $400’s.

Providence Hills straddles the Mecklenburg-Union county line, sending students to different schools depending upon their house location.
