I can't tell you how many times I have heard from the general public here in the Charleston SC Tri-County area that. "If I would have known the appreciation rate for homes 10 years ago I would have invested heavily ." Unfortunately I do not have a crystal ball to predict the future, but what I do have is hard data to support that housing has indeed appreciated greatly in Charleston Metropolitan area. The prices for each year are based on a median sales price for each area.

In the years to come the appreciation ratio will continue to climb , much to the dismay of fence sitters waiting for a better time to buy or invest. In ten years those same people will be wishing they had acted in 2008 when prices were relatively "low."

I recently posted a blog about Google building a data center in Berkeley country in South Carolina (just outside of Goose Creek). The company has since held a few seminars at Charleston Southern University to explain Google Adwords and Google's grants for non-profit organizations. The company handed out $100 adwords gift certificates to any nonprofit groups that attended the seminar.
Google also release a website that explains more about the new Google Berkeley county site. On the site Google explains why they choose Berkeley county for their newest site:
"Berkeley County has the right combination of energy infrastructure, developable land and available workforce for the data center. Additionally, the team from the local community that welcomed us has worked exceptionally hard throughout the selection process. All of this has truly distinguished Berkeley County as a great place for our new data center."

The site also answers several other frequently asked questions, gives details about the new data center, as well as information on how to apply for a job at the data center.
