Charlottesville Ten Miler

Mark Lorenzoni of the Ragged Mountain Running Shop joins Coy Barefoot for a preview of the Charlottesville Ten-Miler.

This race/run is to be held today, Saturday, March 29, 2008.

This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now

Approx 2300 runners are on the streets of Charlottesville, this is a kickoff to Spring and the Dogwood Festival. This is the largest sporting event in town where people participate!!!

A side note: The Lorenzoni's who you can see running around town almost every day, live very close to my home and I see them blazing the roads of Charlottesville often.

If you are a runner you need to know about the Ragged Mountain Running Shop near UVA!

In my younger days I ran a lot of races and when I see an event like this it makes me want to go put my running shoes back on.

Well it is the weekend..... I am out of here!!! lol

Albemarle - Board of Supervisors at it again?

The County is at it again.... County Supervisors set 71 cent tax rate for advertisement

Our tax rate in Albemarle County is currently at $0.68 per $100 of assessed property value.

At a budget meeting help on March 17th, the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors are looking to increase the rate to $0.71 (3 cents).

Is this a big deal, well yes and no. For some it may not seem like a lot. If you are on a fixed income it may seem like a lot (since most people feel our assessments are not in line with values).

There will be a public hearing on the tax rate on April 2nd. Plan on attending if you have questions.

Charlottesville Home Sales (Charts)

There are a lot of statistics out there to look at. The Real Estate market is unique for every area.

This is why I have created a page on my website dedicated just for charts and trends regarding Charlottesville Real Estate.

Please check out this link: Trends in Charlottesville Real Estate

This page is updated frequently and the cycles in our market can give you an edge in knowing how to negotiate a sale or purchase of your home.

Notice the above chart shows that we pulled back to 75 sales for Feb in Albemarle. Feb is typically slow (look at the past years) but it appears we are in a 5-6 month slowdown. We should see thing move upward as Spring sales hit the books.
