People can nourish their bodies and their community by treating themselves to organic pizza and helping to raise money for Our House for Girls. The Flatbread Company at 138 Congress St. in Portsmouth will donate $3.25 for each pizza sold between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. on June 2 to Our House for Girls in Dover New Hampshire.

Our House for Girls was established in 1975 as a non-profit community based residential home for adolescents in need. Our program and location have changed during our 30 year history, but our commitment to providing quality services to adolescents has remained constant. The mission of Our House for Girls is to rebuild young lives through comprehensive therapeutic, educational, and support services, in a structured and nurturing environment.

The University of New Hampshire located in Durham New Hampshirehas announced today that the four year project of generating heat and electricity by burning methane gas provided by a Turnkey landfill in Rochester New Hampshirehas been completed! The methane travels 12.7 miles underground from a processing plant at the Turnkey Landfill in Rochester to the campus. It ends up inside UNH's co-generation plant, replacing natural gas.The landfill could continue to produce methane for up to 20 to 30 years after it has closed.

Just another reason why I love living in the beautiful state of New Hampshire. We all do are part to keep this beautiful state the way it is.

Happy Mothers day to all of the mothers out there today. I hope that you take the time to enjoy the day and are able to spend it with the ones you love!
Today, in my family we will try to carry on a tradition that has been with us for the past 3 years. Every year, on or around mothers day, we travel to Dover NH to Wentworth Greenhouses and pick out all of the flowers for the flower beds at the front of our house. It's kind of nice for my wife, my son and I to go there, spend part of the afternoon letting my wife choose the flowers she wants. This traditionally is our present to her for Mother's day.
Afterward I'm going to get ahold of my Mom and bring her her card, and of course her favorite, Chocolate covered cherries!
