Happy Easter from the Somerset Family

Spring flowers

We would like to take a moment to wish everyone a Happy Easter. My wife Crystal, my son Michael , and I have had a wonderful day together so far, and hope that you and your families are able to do so also.

The picture above is a picture of some flowers that just started popping up in my flower garden along the front of my house. Sure, they may be small! But they are a sign of Spring and the great weather that is to come.

Below is a picture of my son Micheal, the blond next to the Easter bunny, and his cousin, my nephew, Braydon, of course with the Easter Bunny. We had fun, the three of us on Friday at the annual Easter egg hunt put on by the city of Somersworth.

Braydon, Michael, the Easter bunny

Well, gotta go for now. I just put the ham in the oven about 45 minutes ago and need to start peeling potatoes and getting the carrots ready! Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

The Easter bunny will make an appearance in Somersworth NH this evening!

Join the City of Somersworth New Hampshire this evening, Friday, April 10th at Millennium park for the the annual Somersworth Recreation Easter Egg Hunt.

The fun and festivities for ages 3 to 8 will begin at 6 p.m. sharp. There will be three separate fields for individual age groups all beginning at 6 p.m. sharp. Ages 3 and 4 will be on the softball field. Ages 5 and 6 will be on field #2. Ages 7 and 8 will be on field #3.

The recreation department of Somersworth New Hampshire has told me that the Easter Bunny promised to hide lots of eggs, so all children should bring a basket or bag to hunt with. April has been a fairly rainy month so far in Somersworth New Hampshire so egg hunters and parents are being told to be prepared to possibly hunt for eggs in the mud. The forecast seems to be clear this evening, so hopefully no worry about rain, and definitely no worry about snow!.

Parents; Don't forget to bring your cameras for when the Easter Bunny arrives. This will be a moment you will not want to miss.

Enjoy some local flavor; Discover Butternut Farm, Farmington New Hampshire

Spring has arrived in New Hampshire recently, and for me, that means several things. First, it the end of a long, busy winter. Second, it means new plants and crops are being tended to.

A local favorite for my family, Butternut Farm, located in Farmington New Hampshire. They offer some of the best quality fruits and vegetables in the area. Butternut Farm is a pick your own farm with the option to also purchase produce from the farm stand. The selections of fruits includes, strawberries, raspberries, apples, peaches, plums, and blueberries. They offer tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, and even have a very large pumpkin patch!

Butternut Farm Usually opening in June, the fruit schedule is as follows:

Strawberries...........mid June-early July

Raspberries..............................July

Tomatoes..........................July-Sept.

Sweet Cherries..........................July

Blueberries.................late July-August

Peaches......................late July-Sept.

Apples.....................late Aug-October

My family has been coming to the farm for the past 3 years now. A recent discovery that I have to thank a former agent in my office for. A favorite for us is to visit the farm at least once per month. We enjoy picking the fresh fruit and making jams and jellies with it. My seven year old son never leaves hungry, I think every time we visit they should weigh him before he picks and after! There is a wide variety of apples for making apple sauce also. Another family favorite.
