Women's Living Expo

Yesterday I was at a networking group for women, and was given a promotional newspaper advertising what appears to be a pretty wonderful event, happening here this weekend! Below are the featured highlights, but there was much more information, so chech out the link. See you there!!

This weekend 340 exhibitors and speakers from a variety of fields will be at the Colorado Springs Women's Living Expo. The event is from Friday through Sunday at the Phil Long Expo Center.

They have covered all of the bases with topics, events and products for every woman. Some of the planned activites are Fashion Shows, Bridal Shows, Beauty Makeovers, Fitness Demos, Health Screenings, Taste of Colorado and a Celebrity Chef Cookoff.

They advertised Free Giveaways and so much more, click here to see ALL of the excitement they have planned!

Suggested Musical Selection: Helen Reddy I AM WOMAN!

I COULDN'T WAIT!!!

I know there is not quite the same amount of activity here in the Rain on the weekends as there is during the week, but I JUST COULDN'T WAIT!!! I HAD to tell SOMEONE!!!

Colorado Springs will have their OWN RESA SIF Round Table Event!

I had been reading about the events in other cities, here at AR, and thought too myself, "there are enough Stagers here, we should have an event".

I waited a while, mulled and rolled it around. Fortunately, by the time I decided to respond to Shell, it was not too late to sign up as a facilitator.

The details are not settled yet, but the commitment has been made, and the wheels are rolling!

All stagers are welcome, regardless of affiliation, training, certification or membership!

Your host for the Colorado Springs event will be Re:Fresh Re:Design. Please feel free to contact Cheryl Marantino at cheryl@refreshredesign.com for information, "as it happens".

Denver will be having an event as well, and we will not conflict with their date, so that you can attend BOTH if you choose! (I plan to!)

Each city has it's own distinct personality, but we can certainly learn from each other!

Stay tuned, there will be LOTS more information to be shared over the coming weeks, as November and Home Staging Awareness Month are JUST around the corner!

Very Savvy Springs Shoppers Save with Shower of Sudden Values!

A friend just sent this link to me today, and it looked like such a great deal I just had to share! A nice variety of businesses are represented. In looking through the selection, I realized I have met many of the owners of these small businesses. Attending various networking groups around the city, I have become acquainted with many people like myself. Hardworking, and working hard to build a successful business that is supported by locals.

Having lived in small mountain towns for the past 17 years, and being a small business owner, I really understand the value of the "homegrown " customer! Shopping local is very important in small towns, but just as important for the small business owner in the city.

I hope that you will check out this link, and patronize some of the fine businesses represented here, keeping our precious tax dollars LOCAL!

Walking for fun and profit!

Colorado Springs is connected by trails in almost every part of the city. As relative "newbies" to the Springs, my hubby and I were excited to find this out. When we lived in the mountains, there was no shortage of interesting places to walk and/or hike any time, and any season. We thought moving to the city a year ago would mean that our options would be limited to neighborhood walks. After looking online, at this website, we discovered there are plenty of places, right IN the city that don't feel like it at all. Of course there is Garden of the Gods and Palmer Park, but we have also walked the entire Homestead Trail. We have driven to other parts of town, parked the car and walked on several trails in faraway neighborhoods.

As for walking for fun, well, that is self-explanatory. When we choose to walk in neighborhoods, I always enjoy looking at potential paint colors for our own home spruce-up. I love seeing interesting plants in other peoples yards, and seeing how much wildlife I can view, right here in the city, (see this previous post!) . Today, it was only a bunny, and a few squirrels, but my eyes are always open!

And for profit? Here's the sneaky part, while we are walking, our bodies are burning calories and helping us gain muscle and lose fat! I know it's a s-t--r---e----t-----c------h, but while we are preparing for a winter cruise that will require a swimsuit, I am oh so happy for non-monetary profit!

See you on the trails!

Colorado, It's a WILD time!

fox in the yarddeer

Staging a home in Kissing Camels yesterday, I looked out the window to see a deer lying in the shady grass. A squirrel was sitting on the deck, close enough to touch. Later in the day, I saw another young buck, bouncing through the greenbelt, after munching on the neighbors bushes. With neighborhoods close to the mountains, this is not uncommon.

Back on my side of town, (which has great views of those mountains!) there was a squirrel in my front yard, close enough to touch, and an afternoon walk found deer munching on a tree.

All of last winter, we had a family of foxes living in our backyard. This summer it appeared they had moved out, so my husband filled in and sodded over the foxhole. Recently we noticed that the sod had been pulled away, and the hole reopened. At least one fox had returned, (seen above).
