This class was reported in the Toronto Star!
My mother, Terrylynn Fisher, has met Duncan and Jackson in person and is a raving fan of both. She thinks this team will provide a dynamic and informative course that will please all who attend. The course includes role-playing, marketing, staging and business advice and will culminate with the hands-on staging of a house. Graduates must complete and pass two exams and achieve a average mark of 75%.
I wish I could attend the Toronto Pride Class myself, but will be unable to. I hope to meet Duncan and Jackson in the future at one of our StagersLIST Expos or a CSP Convention.
Congratulations guys! I know you'll do a great job!

AT&T Park in San Francisco is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon (bring your sunscreen)
Our gas and electric company notified us of a planned outtage on 7/29/09. This means for me - no work. Luckily it is also "grandpa day", the day when my dad takes the grandkids to do something fun. This week they happened to be taking the ferry to San Francisco to watch a Giants game, so I tagged along.
I admit, I never watch sports on television. I have been to games before and always have fun. It's just different being there, for me. It was an exciting game and the Giants won 1/0 (they played the Pirates). I won't insult any sports fans by trying to review the actual game. The kids were very excited. My three nephews wore their Giants shirts and Rhiannon had a baseball cap.
I usually see The Rolling Stones at this venue, which is always at night, so I never really noticed the amazing view. The open air park faces the ocean. It's a beautiful place to spend the day even if you don't care to watch the game. The park food is very good, though of course expensive as expected. At one point during the game park employees visit the aisles to collect recyclable items.

They have a kids' area which features a giant Coca-Cola bottle slide and a place for little kids to hit a few balls. There is also a Build-a-Bear Workshop, which we avoided this visit.

The weather was quite warm, though there was an amazing ocean breeze. I inexpertly applied sunscreen and have a sunburn on my head where my hair parts, my throat (?!) and patches on my face that I missed. Rhiannon did much better and only burned her chin.
Some Facts:
I learned from the crowd's heckling of a young man that it is a very bad idea to wear a Dodgers hat to a Giants game.
There were over 34,000 people at this game.
The Giants lost their first six games at AT&T Park (then called Pacific Bell Park). Their first home victory did not come until April 29, 2000 against the Montreal Expos.
The Dodgers' Kevin Elster hit the first official home run on Opening Day, April 11, 2000. He went on to hit three home runs that day.
The Giants' Kirk Rueter threw the first official pitch. It was a ball to Devon White of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Two of these facts are provided by me, the other three I found here.
If you're ever in the San Francisco Bay Area, see if you can take in a game at the AT&T Park, it's a beautiful place.

Meet Michael and Jackie Gerry of The Gerry Team. I met Michael for the first time in person today to talk about Active Rain and Social Networking. He's ready to jump right in, but he is still learning. His homework assignment is to learn about commenting on his own and other's blogs. If you've commented on him before and he hasn't responded, please don't be offended. He's new to all of this!
We had a great meeting, my daughter drew him a picture of his dog, Elvis, and we got some blogging tips in. Elvis is a very cute rescue dog. When asked what kind of dog Elvis is, Michael replied, "He's a small black dog." As many of you know about me - I LOVE people who rescue animals. I am a major advocate of animal rescue. Anyone who cares if their "pets" are happy is a friend of mine.
Elvis reminds me of my daughter's beloved dog, Emmy, who passed away. When we first rescued her we were told her heart was enlarged and she may not make it six months. Six years later she went into heart failure after never having acted as if she had a heart problem in those six years. I count that as a blessing.
I think these dog loving Realtors are a benefit and asset to our community and I welcome them.
Thank you! Chris
