Escape If Needed

Bonita Beach

Just in case you're some place with icky weather or if you once lived here and haven't seen this in a while.

This is beach access #2 on Hickory Blvd. Parking is free if you can get it, there's just a few spots and they go quickly. It's worth it to try to find one.

Today a storm rolled in and for the first time in my life the storm went around my part of the beach. Looks like I finally shook off that dark cloud.

There are over a dozen free parking beach accesses plus both Collier and Lee offer state and county parks in the area.

See you at the beach!

This is Why Mona Lisa Doesn't Smile

Miserable WomanTake a look at this beauty. She was left behind in a home in Bonita Springs, Florida that hadn't been redecorated from the early 80's. She was probably the best looking artifact in the home. I saved her from the paint brush. She was almost mustached.

I'm not sure if she's suppose to be Mona Lisa or Frieda Kahlo.

I explained to the new owner of the home that this painting must be saved. It was special (ugly) enough to be a story piece for years to come and that it has to live on. She is waiting for the remodel to be complete so she finds her place in this home.

First time home buyers sometimes have to really suck it up when they buy a home. There are some dated items, well, they're all dated items in this one. There is some grime. There is more money to be spent. In this one, there was even termites. They're kind of cute once you get past the massive destruction they do...

If it's been a while since you've seen a blast from the past house, count your blessings. There are still homes with avocado everything, two story ovens and fake walnut paneling.

I'll try to come back with before and after photos when the paint, carpet and termite tent are gone. lol
