Great leads, great experience, lots of fun

Hi all,

I just wanted to share with you some pictures of our first trade show. It was a great experience. Andrew Mayon, with Triad Real Estate Photography, and myself, Ready Set Stage home staging, participated in our first "Realtor Expo". It was a great experience and great exposure for both of us. We got a lot of leads. We had a photoshow running of the work that we have done together on the computer at our table. We also did a drawing for a free home staging consultation and a free real estate photo shoot. We each had a jar for them to put their business cards in for the drawing. With that, we got loads of Realtors cards. This is a great way for us to contact them all and send them current projects to keep our businesses in their eye. We even saw some of the Realtors and builders there whose homes we have staged and photographed which was fun. If you have never done a trade show, you should try it. It was definitely worth it. Here are some of our photos.

An experiment that will hopefully be a win, win, win for everyone

I have been approached by a builder that has a house that has been on the market for....are you ready.... 3 years. She has all but given up. I was referred to her through a contact I have in Roanoke, VA. Needless to say, she really doesn't have any money to put into this house for staging. I started to brainstorm and came up with an idea that I hope works.

I have approached a furniture warehouse where I buy a lot of furniture and accessories. I've also sent clients there to buy furniture, so I've given them a lot of business. I asked if they would be willing to lend furniture from their showroom to stage this house, in exchange, when the house sells, the builder will purchase a $5000 gift certificate to their store for the new buyer to spend on new furnishings. I thought it was a long shot, but after about a week of working through the details, the store has agreed to give it a try. I'm so excited. Unfortunately, this means I will not be paid until the house closes either, which I have never done, but I'm willing in this one circumstance. The owner of the store also told me, if this works out for everyone, he would like to do some other houses. Yea!!! Here are some of the photos of the house. I'll post the after shots when we are finished. Wish us luck!!!!

Just think how these pictures will look after Andrew Mayon takes them. I can't wait to see that.

Home on the market for 18 months, smart owner turns to staging for help!!!

Hi Everyone,

This home has been on the market for 18 months. The homeowner has moved to Charlotte already, but thought maybe staging would be the edge she needed to get this thing sold. I suggested changing some light fixtures and painting the powder room. The painter is there today painting, so I don't have a before and after of that. We also changed the cabinet pulls in the kitchen from brass to brushed nickel and also some of the swichplates from brass to white. She could only budget to stage 3 rooms and the masterbath, but I think it turned out nice and I hope it helps the seller. Andrew will take pictures Monday, which are always fun to see. I'm sure he will share them with you this week. Here are mine. Let's all pray for a quick sale for this lady. As always, thanks for your support!!!!

Results from a home staging consultation

I got called by one of my Realtor contacts to do a consultation for one of her clients. The only problem was, they were out of town so I had to go in and do a report for them. I never talked to the clients myself, but I just saw the pictures on the MLS and they actually did a really good job.

The Realtor said, they pretty much did everything I asked on the report. I'm proud of them and I hope they sell their house.

I still would LOVE to go in there and tweek it a little, it could still use some colorful accessories to warm it a bit, but.....it looks a lot better.

Here are a few before and after pictures. I took pictures during my consultation, and the after are the pictures the Realtor took for the MLS, so they might not be the same angle.
