We think, we search, we explore Jacksonville FL real estate. And I sometimes get lost in the Why, the Where, the How, and how quickly time goes by.

My Facebook friend Tonya has transcended time. She has been fighting a battle of health and has recently shaved her head. She is beautiful, and I am in awe. I am inspired to be a better person, a better parent, a better Realtor, a better wife.

I am in awe. I am struck with the knowledge that this moment, regardless of who or where we are, can be our last. I am shocked by the realization that this is our time. And that time is not endless. And that to live like time is endless is a waste of that very gift--the gift of time.

I am in awe. I want to view every sunset and see the sunrise. I want to explore the why in all new things. i want to know why little, petty, things seem so important--when in reality they are not. I want to look back at the end of my day and say 'job well done', and mean it. I am in awe of this moment, and I do not want to let it go!

And now the real estate part, after all, it's what we are here for. Buy that house. Just do it. Never-mind the rates are historically low, or that there is that tax incentive. Forget about the low, low pricing. Do it because it will be your moment to own. Because in that moment, in the rain, at sunrise, at sunset, in the warm Florida summer it will be yours to enjoy. Yours. You will own that moment, and that home.

And for the sellers. Sell. If you need to, if you want to, and if you can. Worry less about recouping your 'investment' and work toward what will make you happy. Happy is not a 'ba-jillion' days on market at a crazy high price. Happy is quick(er), easier, and swift to move on. View the sunset where you want to be, not where you have to be.

I am in awe. And I hope this feeling will last forever. And I hope that it transcends all the day to day junk that we go through. I am in awe, and it is good.

I am decidedly not high tech, but here in Jacksonville FL there is great potential. When my husband and I were online searching for real estate, for our first home bought together, we were certainly not thinking about our technology needs (after working through wireless issues today, I wish we had).

So the question is how high tech are you. And how high tech will you need your new abode to be. My bottom line is 3 prong, up to date, wall outlets. But for some that is not a requirement. Let's review what is basic, extra, and potential fluff.

Basic: Are there enough telephone jacks. Are there enough outlets. Are they in the right rooms, and are they where you may need them. Think about the kitchen space and if there are enough outlets in there where they will be needed.

Extra: These can be a basic for some. Is the home pre-wired for sound, and is the sound the same in each room or different. Are the speakers in-wall or added. Is there a network for linking computers. Does your home searchneed to include wiring for DSL and other high-speed Internet connections. Is the heat and air zoned. Does each room have the ability to function independently for energy efficiency. Do the lighting controls make sense for the lighting. Central vac--my favorite, is it important to you. Is the wiring in the walls, and if so can it be updated as technology changes. Will the window coverings work for you. Is there automated anything that is extra and does it work for you.

Potential fluff: There is not fluff in homes when you talk technology. It was a trick option----

Each home is unique and different when it has a new owner. Each owner brings a new perspective to the property. Each owner will paint, change, renew. And each owner has different requirements for technology. So, again, what is yours.
