Worcester's Canal Fest! Saturday November 1 , 11AM-6PM
What: A giant street festival featuring horse-drawn wagon tours of the neighborhood, food from neighborhood restaurants, and musicians, dancers and street performers. A real party. The 4th annual Hot Air Balloon Festival
August 9, 2008
The day starts with a balloon ascension or liftoff, weather permitting from 6 to 7 a.m. Admission charge for the morning liftoff is $2 for adults, $1 for children and seniors, children younger than 2 free; morning attendees receive a $1 off coupon for the afternoon admission.
Activities resume at 2 p.m. with field events and entertainment. Afternoon admission is $4 for adults, $2 for children and seniors, children younger than 2 free. Includes free demonstrations by the State Police K-9 Unit, a free Animal Adventure show and free live music. Also available is the Moon Bounce and face painting for a charge of $1 each. There will also be vendor and food concessions throughout the day. Tethered rides, weather permitting, will be at 5 p.m.; charge is $10 per person. Another balloon ascension or lift off is scheduled at 6 p.m. The event will feature a Balloon Glow at 8 p.m., where pilots will ignite their burners as night is falling, creating an incandescent glow of the huge tethered balloons in the night sky.
