Seven years ago the State of New Jersey had only six solar installations. Solar installations drastically cut electric costs in half.

Currently, the counties of Morris, Bergen and Warren lead all other N. J. counties in the use of solar energy.

Paterson NJ -Great Falls Gets Power Boost

Paterson New Jersey is in the News.

In keeping with producing clean energy to rebuild the economy as supported by President Obama, the hyroelectric plant below the Great Falls of Paterson, will soon be fitted with solar panels to increase its energy efficiency.

The cost of the panels will be paid with a 1.3 million dollar block. A portion of this money will also be used to install turbines along the industrial raceway leading to the Falls, to generate even more electricity.

Paterson once known as the Silk City is conveniently located within minutes of Manhattan and to major highways such as route 80, 46, 4, 17 and the GS Parkway. Although it is in Passaic County, Paterson also borders with Bergen County specifically Fair Lawn NJ.

Lincoln Park Plans to Increase Curbside Recycling

Lincon Park a great town in Morris County.

Lincoln Park plans to increase its pickups from once a month to two. Each home will receive two recycling bins for paper, plastics, glass and cans. The community could see savings of up to $100,000 a year by separating its recyclables.

As reported in The Record it will cost the town about $110,000 yearly to collect the recyclables, it won't contribute to tax hikes, for the town has a trust fund, collected through State grants, that can't be used for anything other than recycling.

Pequannock Township Trout in Hot Water

Pequannock township, specifically Pompton Plains and Pequannock ...

are just one of those cozy warm places to live. With an excellant north Jersey location, close to Manhattan yet with a hometown feel to it. Surrounded my lakes and streams this is a haven for the fisherman in you!

The Local Record reported that due to the high water temperatures in the Pequannock River this summer, enviromentalist are feerful of a fish kill in this sprawning ground. Just recently, the recorded temperature of the river reached 77 degrees, which is almost lethal for brown trout.

Fish in Trouble.

To help rectifty the situation, cold water from the bottom of the Oak Ridge Reservoir will be released into the river, which should bring the water temperature down considerably.
