That's right! Fort Lee's 2011 Concert Series only has two dates left. Tonight, Friday, August 19th, catch Hip Pocket. The fun starts at 5PM with a D.J. The band will perform at 6PM.
This is a great way to kick off the weekend. How can it not be? FREE admission, and rain or shine entertainment!
If you are planning to attend, don't forget to enter the base of Ft. Lee you will need to show your driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance.
The fun will be located at 5th Street, off of C Avenue at the Hideaway. Just ask the guard at the gate for directions. They give good directions!

Auditions for the The Lady Raiders Dance and Cheer Team is happening this weekend! These talented ladies can be found cheering and dancing for the indoor pro football team, The Richmond Raiders.
This afternoon, the Lady Raiders current members and the Rookie Finalist will be performing at the Richmond Squirrels game pre-show. Attendees of the game, can also meet the Lady Raiders! Sunday at 1:45, the ladies will be performing at one of the Locals favorites, the Watermelon Festival's main stage in Carytown. (This festival deserves it's own post.)
The ladies will then learn their fate on Monday.

It's Thursday again and that means music and socializing down in Old Town Petersburg.
Fun is always found here at the Old Town Civic Center. This week's band line up includes Flashback Band starting approximately at 7:30PM and Rosie Soul and The Rock N Roll Cowboys beginning inside around 9:30PM.
Don't forget, doors open at 7. You must be 18 years and up to attend. Bring your ID to get in and price of admission is $10 per person for the full evening of both bands and fun! Rain or Shine! Active military personnel admission is $8.
It should be a great night now that the heat has subsided a bit. A great way to kick off the weekend!

I am looking forward to seeing my friends this afternoon at the 27th Annual Kiwanis Club Shrimp Feast. The feast is being held at Richard Bland College Pecan Grove in Petersburg, VA. The Kiwanis Clubs of Petersburg always do a great job of putting this venue on.
Lots of good food is planned including steamed shrimp, cole slaw, baked beans, hush puppies, cake and beverages. Kids can get a free hot dog meal.
Should be a fun evening from 4-7pm with good food, good music and good friends!
