Fall is a beautiful season here in the mountains, and we hope that you will join us. Plan a visit today and enjoy some of the most spectacular scenery in Western North Carolina.
Most of the color starts showing at higher elevations. Currently we are beginning to see some nice color changes starting at about 4000 feet and above. Near Grandfather Mountain, things are really coming to life, many nice reds and yellows everywhere you look. Within in the next few weeks Asheville and our surrounding mountains will resemble a quilt, a blaze with a multitude of colors; reds, oranges, lots of yellow and everything in between. It is not unlikely to find leaves, or entire trees for that matter, with lavender and shades of deep purple. This is a perfect time to plan your next get away! Come visit Asheville, who knows, you may even decide to call it home!

Historic Hyman Heights - Listed on the National Register of Historic Places!
This neighborhood, just off Main St. in Historic Downtown Hendersonville is full of charm and character.
Hyman Heights was platted in 1908 and eventually merged with the Mount Royal section, which was platted in 1923. The area began its real growth with the opening of Hendersonville’s first hospital, Patton Hospital, in 1913 on Highland Avenue. Many local physicians built homes in the neighborhood during the hospital’s life in styles such as Craftsman Bungalow, Colonial Revival, Ranch, Four Square, and others. Killarney, a stone Gothic Revival, is the oldest home dating to 1858. There are 123 contributing houses/outbuildings.
Numerous historic homes are currently on the market in this neighborhood - including the Killarney House and 1227 Highland Ave, the nurses' dormitory. Prices range from the mid $200's to$600's/

CINDY BOCK has lived in Hendersonville for the past 23 years. Cindy has two children, a daughter, Johnna 16 and a son, Turner, 14. Cindy lived in Jacksonville and Tampa, Florida and in New Jersey before making the mountains of NC her home.
Cindy graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in marketing, management and graphic design. She moved to Vail, Colorado for a few years working as a graphic designer for the Avon/Beaver Creek Times, and resident ski bum. After moving back to Hendersonville,she managed her family’s retail establishment on Historic Main Street – Hendersonville, for the over15 years. Under her management, the Beehive, a Resale Shop, has grown to three stores; Beehive, Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Beehive, Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina. Cindy also owned a restaurant in Hendersonville called the Quarter House Grill for a number of years, before Real Estate became her career of choice.
Cindy has contributed her time and talents to non-profit organizations most of her adult life, such as Downtown Hendersonville, Inc., Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce, Pardee Hospital Foundation, Partnership for Health and currently serving on the board of the Council on Aging.
Cindyserved on the Board of the Mountain Community School for five years, serving as Vice President. Her job as New Facility Chairman for the school resulted in the building of a new 3.7 million dollar campus adjacent to Jackson Park. Cindy worked from concept to completion to house 159 charter school students for years to come.
Cindy and her family find these mountains tranquil and soothing, yet exciting and culturally rich, and an ideal place to raise her children.
