Avon Indiana Homes

Avon Indiana homes for sale are among the most affordable in the nation compared to the average household income. In 2010, the average Avon house for sale had an average asking price of $176,681 and sold, on average, for $169,516. There were 70 Avon Indiana homes that sold for under $100,000 in 2009, and the same number in 2010. The $101-150k price range has remained the busiest over the past several years. There were 37 Avon homes sold for more than $300,000 in 2010, 5 of which were sold for more than $500,000.

The average occupied Avon home was built between 1990 and 2004, and has 3 bedrooms and 6 rooms including kitchen, living area, and bedrooms. For example, the average home might have a kitchen, living room, dining room, and 3 bedrooms. The average Avon apartment for rent has 2 bedrooms with 2 additional living spaces (kitchen and living room). In 2009, the median Avon home value as reported to the US Census Bureau, was $184,263 compared to an overall median value of $123,100 for the State of Indiana. With an average rent and an FHA payment at 5% interest for the median home value above both around the $1250 mark, it’s easy to see why Avon has an astoundingly high homeownership rate compared to the state and national averages.

Fishers Indiana Real Estate

Fishers Indiana real estate continues to be a hot spot for buyers as the municipal infrastructure and commercial development progresses. While still maintaining a sense of community and a high quality of life, the town of Fishers is moving away from its small town roots and embracing industry giants like Sallie Mae, Freedom Mortgage, US Foodservice, Roche Diagnostics, and Marsh Supermarkets headquarters. Major employers like these helped bring 1,600 new jobs to the area in 2009.

The population of Fishers grew an estimated 87.8% from the 2000 US Census to July 2009, when the population was estimated at 71,052. That is an astounding growth for a town the size of Fishers, especially when compared to the 2.6% average growth of cities in Indiana. The Fishers real estate homeownership rate of 77.5% is also well above the national average of 66.2%.

Fishers real estate listings have remained steady even in a challenging economy with a little over 2,000 listings coming onto the market each year. In fact, Fishers Indiana real estate agents are seeing a slow decrease in days on the market for their residential listings, with the average seller accepting an offer to purchase after around 100 days on the market.

CNN Money ranked Fishers Indiana 8th in the 2010 Top 100 Best Places to Live list due to its combination of affordable housing, easy access to Indianapolis, and a great school system. Hamilton Southeastern Schools are so sought after that the school district had to build a second high school in 2006, a new junior high school was started in December 2010, and in March 2011 the district announced a possible third revolutionary high school for gifted talented students. Fishers has also topped a few of Money Magazine’s lists – 9th on the Where Homes are Affordable list, and 9th on the Where the jobs are list (Hamilton County). Hamilton County also tops the Indiana County Health Rankings in all areas - health behaviors, clinical care, and social economic factors.
