Meadowmont's time has finally arrived. For more than 10 years, planners and architects brainstormed this 435-acre extension of Chapel Hill.

Meadowmont Street

It is an interconnected community that mirrors history with its narrow, tree-lined streets and old stone walls. Behind Meadowmont is a bit of interesting history. The community gets its name from a 20,000-square-foot Georgian Revival estate that stands just above the Meadowmont community. Built by the DuBose family in 1933, the home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. A tribute to its namesake, the Meadowmont community is a studied reflection of Southern hospitality and grace.

In fact, front porches, neighborhood parks and sidewalks on both sides of every street encourage neighborly interaction — it's a true community seven days a week. And variety isn't compromised. With luxury townhomes, maintenance-free condos, wooded estate homes and Craftsman style cottage homes, this isn't another cookie-cutter neighborhood. Take a look.

What Makes Meadowmont Different From Other Neighborhoods?
Location, location. Meadowmont's convenience is no accident. Across from the Friday Center, flanking both sides of Highway 54, residents can access UNC-Chapel Hill and Interstate 40 in mere minutes or play a round of golf at nearby Finley Golf Course. A pedestrian tunnel runs under Highway 54, and paths on both sides of the street encourage walking and cycling. Meadowmont Village. Perfect for a Saturday night fiesta or the typical lunch-hour rush. Drop off drycleaning, pick up a prescription, get a quick haircut and still meet your co-worker for lunch at the nearby café. It's possible because Meadowmont Village provides many services and activities in one convenient spot-from retailers and restaurants to offices and relaxing courtyards. It's the small-town Main Street atmosphere you thought existed only with old television sitcoms.

You Never Pay Too Much For Something You Really Want

Simply put, intense desire to own a new home reduces the price substantially in today's market. It is only natural you say it cost too much. We are seeing buyers in Meadowmont today that are not willing to even make an offer because the seller might say I'll accept that offer. That leaves the buyer no room to move forward. The buyer then thinks he paid too much for that property. But if you really want this property and it has everything you have always wanted in a new home, you need to move quickly because the market is starting to change.

Yesterday I was told homes were too pricey in Meadowmont. Meadowmont homes have the most efficient HVAC systems in the the town of Chapel Hill and along with that comes energy savings, comfort, and healthy living. The are side walks on both sides of the streets allowing you to walk to two playgrounds, swimming pool, 52,000 square foot UNC Wellness Center, walking trails with predestriam tunnel under HWY 54, 70 acre natural park, soccer fields, and Rashkis Elementary School w/gym, Harris Teeter w/drug store, restaurants and shops in Meadowmont Village. The street were planted with 2,500 trees of five different varieties by the developer. You could never pay too much for a community that has all this to offer you and your family.

If you have never gone to my website and clicked on About Meadowmont you need to review this material. www.meadowmontrealty.com Also click on About Clarence and you will see a special program offered to my clients and friends when they stay at the Carolina Inn.

As a professional realtor-and as a person-I believe in doing what is morally right over what may be more expedient. I will not compromise on my spiritual beliefs, even if it means I may suffer financially.

My profession has allowed me to provide a living for my family, as well as save for the future. It is only right, then, that I do what is within my power to contribute to the benefit and welfare of the people with whom I associate-whether buyer, seller or agent. The Chapel Hill community has given me so much, and I wish to give back however I can.
