Patriot & Liberty, Turtle Bay Baby Eagles getting ready to fly

There are so many crazy things that happen in this world and day to day the work keeps piling on but when there is something that makes you stop what your doing and think about how grateful you are to be living in a place where you can appreciate wildlife and nature, it's truly a great thing.

Along Highway 44 & the Sacramento River there are a pair of bald eagles who had decided to set up camp. The Bald eagles who don't mind the freeway noise and folks walking across the sundial bridge to take photo's of them.

These eagles have not only been in the area for a few years but they have had babies. Three baby eagles now 11-weeks old and they are getting ready to fly!

The folks at Turtle Bay have a webcast of the nest at their visitor center and there is a webcam however it is not always operational if you want to take a look at the nest and hopefully the baby eagles learning to fly.

We hope the eagles will stay and remind us how lucky we are to have a front seat to nature live. Thanks to all the folks at Turtle Bay and Cal Trans for letting folks into our world.

Trader Joes comes to Redding, Big Deal?

Is Trader Joes opening in Redding a big deal? I can tell you from my perspective this is a big deal! I know for most of us where transplants from other areas the drive to the nearest Trader Joe was long and you always had to plan trips and diversions so that you could stock up on Trader Joe items.

The anticipation for a Trader Joes in Redding has gone on for a couple of years and every time we visited Chico or Sacramento we would ask "when are you coming to Redding?" For those folks who have never been to a Trader Joe's store it will be hard to explain but after one visit you're hooked!

Fresh vegetables, pate's, organic foods, pasta's, bread's, great coffee's, wine, nuts, jams, syrups, breakfast cereal, Fish and frozen vegetables! These are just a few things on my shopping list and the prices are fabulous!

To put this in perspective for me, the last time I was so excited about the growth of one company was in the early 80's while in Fisherman's Warf in San Francisco, I stopped at a cookie kiosk and purchased a chocolate chip cookie. It was a Mrs. Fields milk chocolate chip cookie with no nuts! My best friend and I would make special trips to San Francisco for the amazing cookies. My best friend and I are both right fighters and a dozen Mrs. Fields cookies were often the bet, I always looked forward to my best friend losing the bet. The rest is history you can buy them in the grocery store.

Trader Joes & Mrs. Fields you know how you impact many people but these are the words of one person who will be a life long fan!

Cheers!

How Cool is Kool April Nights in Redding?

I posted a blog inviting all the oldies but goodies to Kool April Nights in Redding and I just wanted to give all of you who thought about coming down here is a glimpse at how much fun it really was. It was a gorgeous spring day in the 70's perfect for a parade.

Our office set up on the corner with BBQ's and tables, agents brought salads, bread, desserts and more. We invited clients to bring their vintage cars or just join us to watch the parade. Agents connected with their clients and had great fun.

The event started for us driving through the drive through of Dairy Queen for a frosty and a cool drink. Then we joined the parade. Thousands of people gathered along the parade route, there were bbq"s and drink kiosks, people cheering from outdoor restaurants!

It was great fun and we cordially invite you to attend next years event, stay tuned, same bat time, same bat channel!

Cheers!
