I have been working with a young couple that wanted to buy a house here in Bryan College Station, TX. When they talked to the loan officer to get pre-approved, it came up that they recently bought a new car last month. This might have been okay except that the car dealer wound up pulling their credit score over a dozen times. As a result their credit score suffered.
The car is actually for a relative that is paying them cash, which in turn, they use to make the payment. Unfortunately, the loan officer has to have twelve months worth of cancel checks before this issue will be cleared up.
So, for any buyers thinking about buying a home, please do NOT buy a car right before you try to buy a house, it might just ruin your day!

I am continually being amazed by my guitar students' excuses for not practicing. And then they wonder "why am I not getting better, faster?" Some find the strings of the guitar to hurt their fingers as they play, others get too busy with "homework", while another student said, "my friends came over, so I went and played with them". Anything to get out of practice.
