Okay I'll admit it, I am getting excited about the changes coming to our little town of Kyle Texas and what it is going to do for the Kyle Texas Real Estate Market.
For the six plus years I've lived in Kyle I've had to allow time to drive somewhere whether that was to pick up groceries, get the kids school supplies, buy the girls some socks (which by the way disappear on a regular basis, or at least one of the socks disappears...what is it with that...well we'll leave that for another blog). Anyway in a few short months that's all about to change.
By spring of next year...yep that's 2009, Kohls will be the first store in the new Kyle Crossing Center to open. This center will be right across from the HEB Plus center. It will be on the Southwest Corner of I35 and 1626.
Now I will admit I have never entered a Kohl's in my life, not sure what they even sell, but hot diggedity I'm going to be a regular. I decided the next time I come across a Kohl's somewhere in Austin and I have a few minutes, I'm going to run in and get a preview of what's coming our way and I'll let you know.
The Target store and the City Lights Movie Theater are scheduled to open next fall (fall 2009). I'm especially excited about the Movie Theater. I used to live close to a theatre years ago and I would regularly drop in and go to a matinee by myself. There is something to be said sitting in a movie theater with only a handful of other people watching a movie...anyway, I rarely go these days as I don't feel like driving. (Though I did go to Mama Mia's recently at the new Southpark Meadows. It was the first movie I've seen in YEARS! But I've been an ABBA fan since college days so I had to go see it. Since my daughters grew up listening to my ABBA tapes two of them were willing to go with me. It was a fun movie didn't think about Real Estate the entire time. Admittedly you have to like ABBA to like the movei as I think there is more singing than talking.)
Anyway this new growth will bring not only shopping to our community but JOBS as well, add these jobs to the ones being created by the new Seton Hospital that is coming across the highway and we're going to have more people wanting to live in the Kyle and Buda area in order to be close to their place of employment. That will give our real estate a boost!
Until next time, if you are looking to buy or sell real estate in the Kyle, Buda or anywhere in the Austin/San Marcos metroplex, give us a call. We'd love to be your realtor. Check out our website www.adkor.net
Have a great one!
We just received the school ratings for 2008 and wanted to share them with you.
It's mostly good news for Round Rock ISD...Six of the elementary Schools in Round Rock ISD improved their Ratings this
year. This brings the tally up to 11 Elementary Schools with Exemplary Ratings and 10 elementary Schools with Recognized Ratings. So 21 of the elementary schools have Recognized or Exemplary Ratings...that's really great news for such a large district.
In the middle school report card, two schools, Deer Park and Grisham, unfortunately dropped to Acceptable this year, but Kudos to Canyon Vista as they moved up to Exemplary. Great Job!
All in all we're seeing more upward movement than down and would expect to see continued progress as the elementary groups are critical in how a district ultimately peforms over time. This is because they are the feeder groups for the Middle Schools and then the High Schools. As their foundations strengthen as seen through the ratings increase, we're likely to see the middle and high school ratings improve as well.
So I'd say that it's a good report card for Round Rock ISD.

Across District TAAS Rating Comparisons for the last 3 years
In case you're wondering how the other schools did this past year, here's a snapshot.
Keep in mind as you look at the ratings, that the school's accountability rating is just one way of looking at a particular campus. Calls to school administrators, other parents and a campus visit all together will give you a basis for deciding which school is right for your child. However if you wonder how schools in this district compare to other schools in the area when it comes to the TAAS Rating, here is an Across District School Comparisons for the last three years. (If there is no rating it could be perhaps because the school is new. It takes two years to be given a rating.)

Some good news and some bad news for Lake Travis ISD...Good news is that all of the elementaries in the district are rated either Recognized or Exemplary. This bodes well for the future of Lake Travis ISD because as logic would have it, the elementaries are the feeder groups for the Middle Schools and then the High Schools, so as their ratings increase so will the upper schools as the kids move up.
We did see that Hudsen Bend Middle School lost its Recognized status, while unfortunate we would expect that they get it back next year.
So all in all I'd say that it's a good report card for Lake Travis ISD.

Well it's official...Rooster Springs and Walnut Springs, both new elementary schools in the Dripping
Springs ISD, earned the ratings of Exemplary in 2008.
That is great news for this up and coming school district. Logic would have it that great ratings begin in elementary school. So we would expect as time goes on and these kids move to Middle School and then to High School, we'll be seeing an entire shift in the school ratings.
So congratulations to the Dripping Springs ISD.

So way to go to the students and teachers of Eanes ISD!
