Briargate Housing Report for February 2010 The area of Colorado Springs that is known as Briargate is in the Northern section of the City. This area is roughly from I-25 to the West, Woodman Dr to the South, Highway 83 to the North, and Black Forest Rd to the East. The homes in this Master Planned community were started in the early 80’s and new building continues today. The schools are part of Academy District 20 and feature some of the highest testing scores nationally.

As of February 2010, the Briargate housing market continued to be one of the stronger communities of Colorado Springs.

The Briargate Area of Colorado Springs comprises an area in the northeast part of Colorado Springs. This is a master planned community that started in the early 80’s and continues to be built. This area is roughly north of Woodman Rd as the southern boundary, east of Powers, West to I-25 and north to Hwy 83. The school district is award winning Academy District 20.

Some neighborhoods in the Briargate Area from oldest to newest are: Briargate, Windjammer, Meadow Ridge, Misty Meadows, Gatehouse Village, Summerset, Fairfax, Pine Creek, Charleston Place, Wolf Ranch, Cumbe Vista and Cordera. New homes continue to be built in the Wolf Ranch, Pine Creek, Cumbre Vista and Cordera areas. The Briargate real estate market is one of the strongest in the City year over year.

Who Needs a Group Health Insurance Plan?

Like many of my fellow brokers finding health insurance is tough at group rates. What does everyone else who has to buy health insurance do? I know that some brokerages offer a group plan but these still seem really expensive. I have looked in to purchasing a HSA and that too seemed a little bit much. Well I was talking to a friend of mine and she mentioned that she started a new business on the side that only cost $300 bucks once and I could then buy into a group plan. I was all ears as you can imagine. The business is pretty cool as well, providing travel services and dream trips at a really good price. So, I signed up and for the program.
