While doing Colorado Springs home inspections, I have encountered Polybutylene pipe on many occasions. Many clients and Realtors have asked for some information on identification and background of this piping. Here is a link to some basics.

The Pikes Peak Regional Building Department has a great search function on their website to allow you to search for current and past (back to 1984) building permits. An "F" status means that the job was inspected, passed, and the permit closed. No permit history means that the work was done without one!
