Peterson Air Force Base (PAFB) is located east of Colorado Springs in El Paso County. To the East of PAFB are the towns of Falcon, Ellicott, Calhan and Peyton. The El Paso County Fair is held in Calhan every summer at the El Paso County Fair & Events Complex. The Complex is also the site for motor sport events, trade shows, expos and equestrian events. Calhan is located approximately 35 minutes from Peterson and is the very eastern edge of Peterson AFB real estate. If it’s city living you are interested in, Falcon, which is approximately 15 minutes from PAFB, is the site of many new housing developments. There are also existing homes outside the gates of PAFB or a short distance in the housing developments of Stetson Hills, Indigo Ranch, and Greenhaven at Ridgeview. These are a few of the housing communities that are part of Peterson AFB Real Estate.
Powers Boulevard is located north of PAFB and is the main access road to many restaurants, shopping centers, and movie theaters. If you are interested in something different, you can dine on an airplane at Solo’s restaurant (see picture on right). The Sky Sox Stadium is also located off of Powers Boulevard. All of these amenities are located a short distance from Peterson.

f you're moving to the Fort Carson real estate area, these health amenities on Post may be important to your family. The Fort Carson Army Base is located southwest of Colorado Springs at the base of the Rocky Mountains, thus the nickname “the Mountain Post.” The Post continues to upgrade its facilities to assist military personnel and families with their medical needs.
Fort Carson has a Wellness Center on base, The Mountain Post Wellness Center (MPWC). The Center addresses the needs of the entire army family. The WPWC provides a holistic approach to promote wellness; with the idea of balancing the mind, body, and spirit. The Center holds classes on smoking (cessation), diabetes, weight management, anger and stress. You can access the calendar for these classes on the above wellness website.
In 1986, Evans Army Community Hospital (see picture below) opened its doors to become part of the Fort Carson community assisting army personnel and their families. I've had several occasions to visit the hospital and the staff has been exceptional and friendly.
In addition, The Hospital has a Nutrition Care Division with an outpatient nutrition clinic. The clinic provides individual consultations for general nutrition, sports nutrition, vegetarian diets, cholesterol education, weight management, and prenatal nutrition. There are also group diabetes educational program classes.
