Scalping Season for the Palm Springs area

The weather is beginning to cool and the evenings are mellow enough for dining al fresco. We are approaching my favorite time of year here in the Coachella Valley. It starts today (we're finally experiencing double digits) and it just gets better and better as winter approaches. Blinding blue skies against tropical palms and desert landscapes and soon, snow peaked mountains and miles of velvet carpeted golf courses are the views in every direction.

It's the end of September and the most colorless time of year, here in the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, La Quinta and Indio). The lawns are been reseeded and the golf courses go through their yearly scalping. The Palo Verde trees, usually lush with verdant greens and yellow flowers have been pruned and stand shamefully naked, as if being punished for being so magestic. There aren't even any flowers in their beds to distract one from the desert purges.

BUT...within two weeks, the green will start peaking through on the lawns and golf courses. Beds of geraniums, pansies, petunias, poppies and a host of color will be lining the boulevards, country club entrances, home walkways.

Out of state and out of country (Canada) license plates are beginning to crowd the parking lots. Restaurants are filling up and soon we'll need reservations again. I love this time of year!

My phone has been ringing for seasonal rentals but so many have planned ahead this year and rentals are becoming scarce. I have sold a new 3 bedroom, 3 bath resort condo with 2 fireplaces nestled in the Coral Mountains in La Quinta recently and is now available for monthly and weekly rental. A new 4 bedroom home with pool/spa will be on the rental program within the next month. I really do love this time of year!!
