Coastal Carolina Christmas Walk (Beaufort). 2-4:30 p.m. Tour the Beaufort Historic Site and the local inns and B & Bs decorated for the holiday season. Cost: free walking tour.
Beaufort Candlelight Tour of Homes (Beaufort). 5-7 p.m. Tour six private Beaufort homes decorated for the holidays and open for candlelight tour to benefit the Beaufort Historical Association. Cost: $10.

Beaufort is full of rich seaport history. Incorporated in 1723 and occupied by Union force, Soldiers from the Revolutionary War, War of 1812 and Civil War are buried within this community. Beaufort is the 3rd oldest town in North Carolina.
Beaufort matured into a close knit community with ties to the sea and commercial fishing fleet generations deep.
In 1997, just two miles off the Beaufort Inlet , history was made in the finding of Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenege wreckage in 20 feet of water. Artifact recovery and preservation has become a popular attraction for the NC Maritime Museum .
Over the recent years Downtown Beaufort has been a place of restoration and beautification. The quaint shoppes and restaurants welcome you and the boardwalk offers a breathtaking view of Galliants Channel, stunning sunsets and aif you are lucky a glimpse of wild ponies on Carrot Island.
The homes are rich with charm and character. Pride is beaming as you walk down the side streets and sidewalks to reminisce of years gone by. Rocking chair porches, American flags, and coastal colors sprinkle the streetscape and many restored homes wear a historical plaque to note authenticity of eras gone by .

The weather is expected to be mild- and the Christmas Walk and Candlelight Tour are sure to be a fun way to peek into the historic cottages of Downtown Beaufort.

Well, after a nice afternoon watching ECU beat Tulsa for the C-USA championship , my husband loaded our folding chairs and we packed up a cooler of hot cocoa and marshmallows and headed to the waterfront to watch the annual Christmas Flotilla ! (boat parade on water)
The season feels official now and it prompted me to get busy today getting my Charlie Brown Christmas tree up and making home feel a bit more like Winter is upon us and Christmas is near.
We are a football family (Univ. North Carolina Football- My husband is a Tarheel coach) and anxiously awaiting our bowl selection so we can get organized and plan our trip....
Christmas carols are playing and I just saw the fantastic video of Martina McBride with Elvis singing "Blue Christmas "! Wow, she looks alot like Priscilla!

I was flipping channels and landed on Mad Money with Jim Cramer last night ....
I love his energy--thats real passion!
Anyway, I had to cheer him on when he started discussing our current "Depression"
and the stops in place vs. the "real Depression".
heres a quote from Mr. Cramer:
"There's no 33% unemployment nor are we in danger of massive bank failures. Housing prices have fallen far enough to, in addition to the decline in building permits, signal a bottom by June 30 of next year," .... which is what Cramer's been saying all along.
Buyers:
Now is the time to get off the fence, when the bottom hits (by June) it will be too late to get current deals.... interest rates are provoking as well- the economy is rebuilding. That means opportunity!
