Just came back from our MLS meeting and tour of new home listings in Auburn and above. There are some incredible offerings, under $300k. The featured lender talked about the Buyer tax credit of $8,000. for 1st time home buyers and $6,500 for existing home buyers ready for a change of address. With interest rates dipping in to the 4% range again it is a wonderful time to take advantage of country living with an unparalleled quality of life.
I had a discussion with another agent how this could help existing homeowners, ready to move but not wanting to get into a 30 year mortgage again since they may want to retire before then. They could use the credit to buy down the interest rate on a 15 year loan, have a fixed payment similar to their current payment and be mortgage free by the time retirement rolls around!
Tell a friend or relative that thinks they just couldn't afford country living, I'll find them a way.

Shooting stars, what a treat! Perseids Meteor Shower. The Perseids is one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at their peak. This year's peak occurs on the morning of August 12, but you may be able to see some meteors any time from now through August 22. The waning gibbous moon will provide some interference in the early morning, so the best viewing will be in the evening before it rises. The radiant point for this shower will be in the constellation Perseus. Look to the northeast after midnight. Find a place that isn't tainted by man made or moon light, view from a chase lounge is most comfortable. Don't for get to make a wish!
