Ever wish you could park the car, and only bring it out again for long trips and vacations? Tired of yard work and upkeep on a house that's more than you need in both space and expense?
If your answer is yes, you might want to keep an eye on some very unique and interesting developments that are coming down the pike (actually the TRAX). In many areas of the Salt Lake Valley, planners are busy evaluating plans for a new Real Estate development concept referred to as a "walking Community".
The "walking Community" concept is simply using a convenient transportation hub (TRAX STATIONS) as the anchor for high density condominiums and town homes with walking paths that direct home owners through planned open space to light retail and shopping. The obvious attraction is a car free environment, using TRAX for over 90% of transportation needs.
If you see the possibilities, and I do, watch for the groundbreaking later this month or early October by Hamlet Homes of the first phase of a community unique in the state of Utah. The Murray City Redevelopment Agency has spent almost five years planning a "walking community" around the proposed TRAX station at approximately 4500 south and State St. in Murray. Phase one will be a mix of owner occupied Condominiums and some small retail.
FIRECLAY , is an exciting and visionary development, first of it's type in Murray as well as the state. Keep your eyes right here as I plan to stay on top of this and will let you know how it progresses.

I learned somewhere around the 3rd grade that one measure of a civilization or society was its libraries (think Hammurabi) so it's only fitting that as West Jordan qualifies as a "Big City" a decision has been made to move the hub of the entire Salt Lake County Library System.
A new 20,000 sq. ft. facility will be built behind West Jordan City Hall adjacent to Veterans Memorial Park. In addition to housing the administrative offices it will host many major Library events and activities.
The Salt Lake County Library System is the 13th busiest library system in North America and certainly a welcome addition to an already attractive and vibrant community.
Four building projects are planned over the next four years, replacing existing libraries in Magna, Murray, Herriman and West Jordan.
Libraries are neat. They are great for a community and its citizens. I'm not the only one that thinks so either, let me share some thoughts others have had on the subject of libraries.
"A house without books is like a room with no windows... no man has a right to bring up children without surrounding them with books".....Thomas MANN
"A Library Book... is not an article of mere convenience, but fairly of capital, and often in the case of the professional man setting out in life, is their only capital"......Thomas JEFFERSON
"Outside of a dog, a book is mans best friend. Inside of a dog.....It's too dark to read".....Groucho MARX
"Medicine Chest Of The Soul"..... Inscription over the door of the library at THEBES.
Great job West Jordan City, your not just a "BIG CITY", your a great Home Town.
And like one other great philosopher said. "That's all I've got to say about that"
