Review Your Natural Gas Rate

Every winter I’m reminded to check my natural gas rate and compare the rates of different suppliers. It has been so mild in N.E. Ohio that it didn’t occur to me until tonight. With the threat of our first major snow storm upon us now is the time to shop around. I renegotiated our rate from $6.99 MFG down to $5.49.

If you've never renegotiated your rate with your supplier, maybe it's time.

A lifelong resident of Painesville, Katie looks forward to devoting her talents and education for the betterment of Painesville.

Katie’s roots lie deep in Painesville. Born Katherine Rebecca Howlett at Lake Hospital East in 1980, Katie attended Painesville schools throughout her K-12 education. Upon graduating from Harvey High in 1999, Katie attended Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, receiving her BA in environmental studies in 2003. From there, Katie accepted a job in Pittsburgh, but her heart was still in Painesville. She returned home in 2004. She was immediately offered a position with the State of Ohio where she has held progressively higher positions over the last seven years. Katie is currently the assistant to the director of training in the State of Ohio’s mental health division.

While working full time, Katie pursued and received her master’s degree in 2007 from the Cleveland State University College of Urban Affairs with a major in public administration.

It's Time to Review Your Natural Gas Rate

In a few weeks we're going to fire up our furnaces and have the pleasure of paying those high heating bills again. This is a good time to review your natural gas rate. My household is with IGS (through Dominion). We had a rate of $7.60 which I just lowered to $6.69.

If you've never renegotiated your rate with your supplier, maybe it's time.
