New Jersey Incomes Rank Second Highest

Great news came out yesterday from the US Census Reports, New Jersey Incomes Rank Second Highest in the Nation, just behind Maryland.

The median household income in New Jersey is $67,035 according to Census Reports.

In Central New Jersey's Hunterdon County, the wealthiest county in the Nation, the median income is $100,327 with a population just under 250,000.

Hunterdon County 4H & Agricultural Fair

The annual Hunterdon County 4H and Agricultural Fair runs thru Sunday, August 24th. It is located on 179 in Hunterdon County at the Fair Grounds.

This fair has all of the makings of an old fashioned County Fair. Included are "Pig Races" and "Tractor Pulls". There are rides including a super large ferris wheel.Pigs

Fireworks are Friday Evening at 9:00 pm. Every evening there is live entertainment featuring the Tim Giles Band 7:30 on Friday at the main stage.

The cost is $10.00 per car load and there is plenty of entertainment and education for both young and old.

Hopewell Township, Mercer County, NJ

Hopewell Township is approximately 60.40 square miles of land. The township borders Ewing, Lawrence, Hunterdon County and Montgomery County.

Within Hopewell Township are two boroughs, Hopewell Borough and Pennington Borough. These two boroughs are separate municipalities with their own municipal government and tax identity within the township.

Hopewell Township has several private top employers including: Merrill Lynch with 6,000 employees; Bristol Myers Squib with 1,765; Janssen with 1,200 and Trap Rock with 1000.

There has been a surge of recent growth along Route 31 in Hopewell including; Hopewell Crossing, Pennington Pointe and Shops and Strip Mall close to the Pennington Market.

Hopewell Valley Regional School system is highly ranked and sought after. The Hopewell High School has recently revived their football team, Bulldogs.

Hopewell is also home to Historic Washington Crossing State Park. Every year on Christmas Morning there is a reenactment of George Washington crossing the Delaware River. Hopewell is rich in history and historic sights.

Along with the two quaint boroughs, Hopewell and Pennington, Hopewell Township is home to several farms, including organic, sheep and equestrian.

The vistas, open space and preserved land along with housing from spacious single family homes to town houses and age restricted living and close access to Philadelphia, New York, Princeton and Flemington contribute to Hopewell being a desirable destination for recreation and housing.

Hopewell Borough, Hopewell, NJ Municipal Spotlight

All legislative powers of the Borough of Hopewell are exercised by the Borough Council. These powers can take the form of a resolution, ordinance or proclamation.

The Borough Council meets once a month, usually the first Monday of the month, at 7:30 PM in the Court Room at Borough Hall. The Mayor presides at these meetings. These meetings are open to the public in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act, and all public meetings have time allotted for members of the public to speak on any issues they wish to address to the Council.

The Mayor appoints volunteers to serve on the various boards and commissions to assist the Borough with its duties and responsibilities to the community. If you are interested in volunteering to serve on a board or commission, contact the Mayor or Administrator/Clerk (609-466-2636).

Princeton University Chapel

The University of Princeton Chapel is the third largest college chapel in the world and the University's largest indoor facility.

The Chapel is non-secretarian and holds weekly denominational and nondenominational services. Along with the religious use it also hosts non-religious ceremonies including Opening Exercises and services for commencement. The chapel seats approximately 2000 and is 270 foot long.

The oak pews are wood from Civil war times. The stained glass collection is the most valuable in the western hemisphere and when renovated in 2002, was sent to France for cleaning and restoration.

The architecture through out the campus of Princeton University is mostly Gothic. In keeping with the gothic architecture style, which Princeton is famous, the chief architect was Ralph Adams Cram who specialized in Gothic Revival Architecture.

This structure is truly a feast for the eyes with the ornate carvings, stained glass and wood worked pews. The Chapel is a "must see" when touring Princeton Borough and the University.
