There are three schools for higher education in Chatham County. The biggest and most publicized is the Savannah College of Art and Design, otherwise known as SCAD. SCAD occupies approximately 2 million square feet and 60 facilities in historic district of Savannah. Acknowledged for its historic preservation, SCAD reuses historical structures as classrooms, studios, and more. It offers over 30 programs of study and is accredited.
Armstrong Atlantic State University is an accredited university located in Savannah on the southside. It is a 268 acre campus that is a blend of residence communities and renovated educational buildings. Armstrong consists of colleges of Arts and Science, Education, and Health Professions. They also have the Schools of Computing and Graduate Studies. Armstrong offers state of the art computer and science labs, three theaters, multimedia classrooms, an Honors Program Suite, and much more.
Savannah State University is an accredited university located on the southside of Savannah like Armstrong Atlantic State University. It is the oldest institution of higher learning. SSU boasts a 178 acre campus that is made picturesque by the mossy oaks, marshes, and historic architecture. It offers the Colleges of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and Sciences and Technology. They have graduate programs in Business Administration, Public Administration, Marine Sciences, Urban Studies, and Social Work.
No matter what your interests, there is a program for you. Savannah has so much to offer students looking to further their education. Savannah has plenty of opportunities for higher education and employment.

Hunter Army Airfield is located conveniently in Chatham County. Hunter is considered to be a part of Fort Stewart which is located about 45 miles further west of Savannah. It is the home of units of the 3rd infantry division including the "Marne Division's" Aviation Brigade. There are also some non-divisional and tenant units located on Hunter. One of the most
interesting facts about Hunter is that it has been identified as an alternate landing site for NASA space shuttles. In fact, any aircraft can land at Hunter. Thus, it is regarded as the Army's premiere power projection platform.
Because of it's proximity to Savannah, there are plenty of shops and attractions to keep you busy. Directly outside the Rio gate, you can find the Savannah Mall. There is also a great pier for fishing and a place to dock your boat on Hunter. If you are looking for some fun in the sun, a 30 - 45 minute drive will get you to Tybee Island to relax on the beach. With all the expansion going on, there was an increased need for housing. New homes have been built already to assist with the increasing need.

Unlike Chatham County, the sales data in Effingham County seems pretty consistent. The number of sales increased along with the percentage of asking price obtained. Attraction in West Chatham County: Looking for things to do in the suburbs? Check out all the current attractions in the area. But make sure to check back regularly as new attractions are on the way.
The Savannah area has so much history and so much growth. Going downtown, is like being transported back into time. The old buildings lining the streets, which medians are lined with Oaks covered in that beautiful Spanish Moss, allows you a glimpse into the past. If you are coming for a visit, you must take a stroll along River Street. Not only do you get to see the River and riverboats, but there are so many restaurants and stores along the way. For those with a sweet tooth, they have some wonderful candy stores that make excellent fudge and other goodies. If you like ghost stories, Savannah is the place for you. Take a ride in a hearse along the downtown streets while the driver tells you of all the haunted places around. Forsythe park is a great place to take the kids or to just go for a jog. Better yet, take a trip to the beach. Not only will you find a place to have some fun in the sun, but you will also find unique little shops. They are currently working on expanding the River front in Savannah. I can't imagine what more they can add. Savannah has something for everyone. Come discovery the history and beauty of the South. Discover Savannah!
While you are here, don't forget to visit the West Chatham, Bryan, and Effingham Counties. West Chatham offers proximity to downtown Savannah but without the city drawbacks. There is so much growth going on in Pooler, Port Wentworth, Rincon, Guyton, and Richmond Hill. It seems like things change almost daily. There are so many plans for these areas. There are two new restaurants and a car wash set to open in Pooler and a new Lowe's open. Two new school are planned for the West Chatham area as well. They will be located off Jimmy Deloach Parkway. If you would like more information, don't hesitate to contact me. If the city and the suburbs aren't for you, Effingham County may be the perfect fit. While the area is seeing some growth, there are plenty of homes with land available. So if horses are your passion, Effingham County has a place for you. You can live in a country setting and still be within an hour of the city and the beach. Savannah and the surrounding areas have so much to offer. Come explore all there is to offer!

It's been on your mind for awhile. You've considered every available option and went over every detail. After some time, you come to the decision to sell your home. Now that you've made the decision, what happens next. Do you buy a for sale by owner sign and begin to market your home yourself? Or do you enlist the help of a real estate professional to market your home?
There is no clear cut answer that is right for everyone. However, your chances increase when you decide to list with a real estate agent.
Why? Experience, Exposure, and E-Knowledge. A real estate agent has helped many people sell their homes and have gained more knowledge each time. A great real estate agent will give your home the most exposure possible. There is so much more to marketing than your typical print advertising. The internet has allowed us to reach so many more people. Thus, it gives your home more exposure. Multiple websites and the MLS are only the beginning. Another powerful tools is agent to agent networking. Real estate agents will notify all other agents about your home. E-Knowledge, a word I created, is the use of our most powerful tool, the internet. There are so many new ways to get your home out there to millions and millions of people. The more people that see your home, the more likely your home is to sell.
How? With online blogging emerging as a new tool, an agent can blog about your home, add pictures, and links to get your home out there to more people. Online forums either for agents or consumers is another great tool. Agents can market your home to other agents and even consumers. You never know who has or will have a client looking in your area. If can be as simple as adding your home to the agents website, putting the link in a profile, and just posting quality information. The person reading looks at the profile and sees the link. They open the link and there your home is. The more sites your home is on, the more likely people will see your home.
Who? With so many agents out there, how can you possible decide you to choose. Simple, you need to ask the right questions. You need to find someone that is very ambitious, energetic, and trying new ideas. You want someone that will get your home out there as much as possible. You want someone that uses all the available technology for you. Basically, you want someone that will work for you in every way available.
I received my real estate license from Pennsylvania in 2002 and Georgia in 2006. While in Pennsylvania, I assisted many people with their home buying and home selling needs.
