Lexington SC Real Estate Taxes in District One Remain Steady

Lexington SC Real Estate Taxes are not going up (at least for the school portion) according to a recent article in the Lexington Chronicle. The Lexington 1 District proposed a budget for 2009-2010 that included cutting up to 39 jobs and using reserve funds to balance the new 171.5 million dollar plan. According to the article the district absorbed about 8 million in revenue cuts for the current budget. The budget must still have several readings before approval. Some are concerned about how this will effect class sizes and other school related activities that will likely be addressed at the public hearings.

LEXINGTON SC HOME SALES STATISTICS

The Lexington activity was mixed, as has been the trend lately. Irmo listings were up as well as sales. Lake Murray activity still remains relatively slow overall but showed positive signs in the lower price range. Chapin activity was mixed again. Columbia and Northeast Columbia were mixed but have been showing a slight trend downward. For the most part as school starts to finish up the market will take a little break and then pick up in activity as the summer begins. The overall trends and activity are still looking very good. .

Lexington SC Real Estate - Road Improvements Funding for the Town of Lexington Lexington SC Real Estate in and around the Town of Lexington will receive a big boost towards improving roads and traffic flow. The town will receive 8 million dollars to be used towards intersection improvements along the 378 corridor. The town will combine these funds will about 6 million they already had, allowing them to begin the implementation of the plan. The only catch in being able to use these funds is that the town must have 1 million in matching funds which they are trying secure now. This is welcome news and will be a big step towards dealing with traffic congestion.

The Lexington activity was mixed this week with a slight increase in sales. Irmo listings were down but sales stayed consistent. Lake Murray activity still remains relatively slow overall. Chapin sales were up slighly on a number basis. Columbia and Northeast Columbia were mixed over last week with a large increase in sales, making up for the previous week .

Lexington SC Real Estate - Downtown Lexington SC New Building Project

Lexington SC Real Estate in the downtown Lexington area will be receiving a big boost according to a recent article in the Lexington Chronicle. The article states a Lexington developer has plans for a 7 million dollar commercial and residential project for the area. About 18,000 square feet of commercial space with frontage on Main Street and about 45,000 square feet dedicated to living space. Construction on the project is set to begin after the first of next year and should be complete within 12 months.

The Lexington market saw a rebound this week in listings and sales. Irmo sales and listings were mixed. Lake Murray activity still remains relatively slow but there was a big increase in sales on a percentage basis. Chapin listings were up some but flat on sales. Columbia and Northeast Columbia were mixed over last week with large decreases in sales.
