Donate Used Tack at DelVal Horse Expo

Thoko, from Malawi Africa has been riding for 3 years

Cindy Stys Equestrian Properties, Ltd. is collecting used tack to be sent to impoverished equestrians in Malawi and Swaziland, in Southern Africa. This project, Tackful Mission, is part of a global leadership and training program Cindy Stys is enrolled in at Landmark Education. Her connections to the International Equestrian Federation in Switzerland prompted Stys to link the local horse community to developing countries eager to be involved in horse sport. Zoe Kayes, President of the Malawi Equestrian Federation in Zomba, has been lending her riding equipment to the local children and is giving them riding lessons. Her goal is to establish riding programs at more schools; she is currently targeting St. Andrews Primary School in Blantyre, Malawi and is developing a riding program there. “The children are Malawi’s future and that is why development in riding and other sports is so important” comments Kayes who says riding apparel, tack and grooming supplies are desperately needed.

The tack that was collected at the 4-H Tack Swap in April was donated to Equi-librium Therapeutic Riding Facility in Saylorsburg due to shipping difficulties to South Africa. Due to limited storage space the tack had to be removed before we could figure out a shipping solution. However recently, the President of the International Equestrian Federation, HRH Princess Haya, who Cindy had the pleasure of meeting and working with after the bombings of 911, has graciously offered to have the tack shipped to Africa. To make it a worthwhile shipment, we need to gather more tack so are counting on your generosity.

Donations will be accepted at DelVal Horse Expo (Doylestown) Nov. 1 - 2, 2008 at our booth (#59)www.cshorseproperties.com

HERE'S WHAT PEOPLE HAD TO SAY ABOUT LAST YEAR'S SOCIAL

Thank you so very much for organizing such a very fun evening. It was great to meet so many wonderful people! I hope that this is a yearly event, and I'll be sure to send any horse folks looking for property your way! Thanks again, Kim
Thank you so much for putting together a wonderful evening. Lorna and I both enjoyed ourselves as well as appreciated the opportunities to network with so many in the equestrian industry. As a success to your concept of networking we received two additional advertisements for our annual program book.

PA Horse Expo - Horse Lovers Utopia!

Wow - this is a huge expo! The last time I was in Harrisburg Farm complex was for the PA National in October many years ago as a US Equestrian Federation staff member. It looks a lot different for the trade show.

There is horse lovers' utopia! So many cool products & services - there are around 500 vendors. It's mind boggling as you are walking up & down the aisles. I had seen some great prices too. $35 for hand knit gorgeous wool sweaters! I am definitely going to buy myself one tomorrow before they sell out! Was also looking at Panacur for $52.00 - I usually purchase this on line because you can get a better deal but you can't beat this price because there's no shipping.

My booth is #1616 (in the back) - near some great vendors - western boots for under $80 for example.

Stop by and receive a free bag of organic horse treats! Receive a coupon for $1000 at closing to Chaa r Saddlery on-line or in Allentown if you buy or sell a property through me!

Hope to see you there-

Cindy

PA Horse Expo -chases winter blues

Included at the PA Horse Expo this year is Theatre Equus. Professionally choreographed and scripted - Theatre Equus is said to be truly an event to remember. I had seen the Zingaro Circus in Switzerland about 10 years ago. It is an equestrian circus and quite the theatrical presentation so I look forward to seeing another circus devoted to our beloved horses. The 2008 event promises to be the best and most exciting show ever according to the write-up on the PA Expo website.

Friday, February 22 and Saturday, February 23, 2008

Theatre Equus starts at 8:30 pm. Shows last approximately 1 1/2 hours and seating is limited.
All seats are sold as reserved seating.

Theatre Equus Admission Prices
Level 1 $24
Level 2 $18
Level 3 $16
Level 4 $12

Hope to see you there!

Eastern PA is Horse Country 2nd series

Just released - 2nd brochure series showcasing equestrian related businesses and organizations in Bucks County, Northampton County, Lehigh, Berks and Monroe Counties in PA.

Breeders, trainers, competitors, horse enthusiasts of all kinds, if you are looking to relocate to an affordable area convenient to major horse shows and airports Eastern PA is your place! September 2006, Sidelines, a popular magazine among Florida's show circuit, featured "Pennsylvania: Horse Paradise" on it's front cover with a more in depth article inside about what this great state has to offer equestrians. Bucks County is steeped in equestrian tradition with its many horse farms and to-die-for landscape. The Bucks County Horse Park hosts a variety of horse shows almost every weekend in the summer http://www.buckscountyhorsepark.org/ from jumping and dressage shows to horse trials, polo and western shows. The Lehigh Valley with its rolling hills, open landscape and agricultural appeal has seen the opening or resurrection of many equestrian facilities.

The area is also rich in 4-H programs and other horse oriented organizations to name a few:

  • Lehigh Valley Horse Council
  • Lehigh Valley Dressage Association
  • Boots & Saddle Club (Allentown)

PA bred incentives also make Pennsylvania a very attractive state to relocate to for race horse breeders.
