Elk Lake

Elk Lake

Elk Lake is located in Antrim County, Elk Rapids, Michigan. To access Elk Lake you will use Rier Street and Park Road on the lake's west side.

Rainbow, Brown and Lake Trout, Whitefish, Cisco, Smelt, Perch, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Burbot and Sucker can all be found here in Elk Lake.

Lake and rainbow trout are the most popular fish for Elk Lake fisherman, averaging 3 to 5 pounds. They are planted each year by the tens of thousands. The lake has deep water (100 feet) almost the entire length of the lake and lake trout are caught by trolling or jigging deep. Rainbow and brown trout cruise the shorelines and are caught my trolling zig-zag over the dropoffs. Last year, the west central and south shorelines produced good fishing. Troll with long lines and smelt imitating baits. If you get tired of trolling, try still fishing with minnows.

You can find anything from award winning red wines, ice wines right down to our specialty cherry wines. Being A Good Realtor Does Not Make Automatically Make You A Good Manager

We will call her Sales Person Sally. Sally was given the informal position of office/team leader of a very small office that needed to do some serious growing of the number of agents it had. Sally was an incredible salesperson with a few years of experience behind her. Full of excitement and the true desire to help, she set out to grow the office with new agents. Several agents came and went, very quickly. They seemed to leave as quietly as they came. Now we get to the challenging part. When each of these agents left, Sally did not have much Good to say to the other agents about the departing agents. All of a sudden these agents that had left were the worst people on earth and had no business being in real estate anyway. When it came time for another agent to leave the office, this agent went to a mid level manager with a request for transfer. When Sally got wind of the request, she immediately cut off all communication with the agent and developed the same negative pattern of behavior. This is a very sad situation for everyone involved. Why is it that sometimes we think that just because we are successful at the task level of something that we will automatically be a wonderful manager/leader. There is a HUGE difference between managing people and leading people. Is there hope for Sally? If so, how can someone step in from the outside to help her without becoming the next target of her rage and negativity? Is it worth it to go out on a limb to help Sally or should we just write it off as someone else's problem to deal with? I would love to hear input from everyone on this topic. I am sure that we have all dealt with a Sally in our lives at one time or another.

Sellers Should Protect Themselves With A Home Warranty

I have been working with a home warrnaty company that provides warranty service to the selller for the time of the listing and then transfers the policy to the new buyer. This has been a great listing tool. There is no up front cost to the seller, all fees are paid at closing. If the house does not sell, the warranty company does not back charge the customer. It has just recently proven to pay for itself in a huge way when my seller had their furnace go out. We were able to call the home warranty company and have them send out a service technician to evaluate and eventually replace the unit. Without this covereage, my seller would have been out of pocket for these repairs. American Home Shield is the company that I have worked with and they do a great job with their warranty programs. If you don't offer this as a service on your listing appointments, you are missin gout on a great opportunity to put your services at an advantage over someone elses.
