The Power of a Tweet

Last week we started having problems with our tankless water heater.

It was leaking (slowly) but still heating water.

The company said that they would send parts.

They did send parts but not ALL the parts needed.

Husband called back.

"We will send the parts," they promised.

Two days, no part.

The water heater starts leaking big time.

We turn it off and only turn it on as needed.

Three days no part.

"The part is in the mail."

No part on Monday.

I am livid.

We call and ask for the tracking number.

The employee who had the tracking number was in "conference"

and would not call us back. He did not call yesterday and did not call this morning.

When we called the company we just got recordings and no return calls.

I had had enough.

I called and left a message to the effect that if I did not hear from

them by the end of the day today I was going to TWEET it.

We got two phone calls, the tracking number and surprise, surprise

the package had not been put into the system for delivery until today

after assurances last week that it was on the way.

Oh, the power of the tweet!

A Pond By Any Other Name....

In Texas we call them ponds.

People love ponds. One of the most frequently asked questions I get on land/farm and

ranch listings is "Does it have a pond?"

I have been told that they are called different things in other parts of the country.

When conducting my MLS searches for properties with ponds I have noticed that in the

comment sections some of my fellow realtors will state things like, "Good place for a pond"

etc. It makes in come up in our searches if a keyword search has pond in them. HMMMMM.

Food for thought.

4 Year Old takes on Telemarketers

You have just got to love kids.

One client has a 4 year old.

She sounds about 16 on the phone.

I called one day and asked to speak to her mother.

She said, "Brenda she can't come to the phone right now she's doing the laundry."

I again asked to speak to her Mother. She stated, "Brenda, she is doing laundry

for the WHOLE family."

I decided to call back later.

I was telling her Mom about this. I said, "You have quite a little secretary there."

She laughed and said, "Oh, Brenda, sometimes she answers the phone, listens for a second and hollers

TELEMARKETER and hangs up.

The Mom is thinking of hiring her out!

Cowboy Coolers- My Way of Giving Back (This Month at Least)

Cowboy Cooler

Are you good with your hands?

Well my husband, Glenn, is. He can take some old fencing and in a couple of hours make

what he calls a Cowboy Cooler. He donated one to the booster club at our high school, A&M Consolidated.

He is donating one to our local Sister Cities, a student foreign exchange program, for a raffle to be held December 5, 2009.

One day I heard him at the printer making signs. "What are you doing?", I asked.

"Making a sign to put on the cooler," he said.

His sign read,
