CT Hurricane Evacuations: Many towns are already encouraging evacuations - Guilford, Milford & Westbrook have already encouraged residents who live south of i-95 to voluntarily evacuate. Many low lying areas, such as the Guilford Green, are at extreme risk of flooding and all residents and businesses are encouraged to evacuate prior to sundown Saturday night.
CT Hurricane Tips:
Preparing Supplies - While many stores have sold out of water, bread. Focus on non-perishable items that do not need to be kept cold or frozen. If your power goes out, your microwave won't work. If your power goes out, you should keep your refrigerator and freezer shut to lock in cold air. Pretend you are going on a camping trip with no readily available electric outlets. Bottles of water and soda do not require refrigeration. Bagged snacks and cans of food that can be eaten cold are also good options. Gas and charcoal grills are good options (once the storm stops!)
