guilford ct fireworksWhere to watch the Guilford CT Fireworks? The Guilford Fireworks are being launched from the Guilford Fairgrounds. The Guilford Green is close by and offers a number of good spots to sit back and watch the show. An alternative spot is Jacob's Beach, which is just down the street from the Fairgrounds, and has many unobstructed views of the sky.

Direction to the Guilford CT Fireworks:

Take i95 to exit 58. Head South off Exit 58 (which is Rt 77) and go about 1/2 a mile until you hit the Guilford Green. Parking can be found around the Guilford Green. If you want to go to Jacob's Beach, head down Whitfield Street (on the Guilford Green) and take a right about a mile down at Seaside Ave. Jacob's Beach is a quarter mile on the right.

Madison CT Fireworks 2011

Madison Connecticut's Fireworks Display was Sunday night, July 3rd 2011. Madison CT town residents and people from all over the state flocked to the key spots around town to watch the 25 minute firework display.

Madison CT FireworksI watched the Madison Fireworks from the Madison Surf Club, and was able to watch from the beach right in front of the new Madison Beach Hotel (which should be open in a few months). While a few thousand close friends joined me at the Madison Surf Club, the crowds (and parking situation) were better than Hammonasset Beach State Park - which is much larger but gets more tourist and out-of-town traffic.

The video below of the finale to the Madison Fireworks was shot on a Kodak Zi8 from the beach at the Madison Surf Club. The edits and title were done with iMovie on a MacBook Pro.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! The shoreline town fireworks displays are so much fun each year - they bring people in the town and community together. See you next year at the Madison CT Fireworks.

Lighthouse Point Park - A Great Place For A Party In CT

Lighthouse Point Park in the Morris Cove neighborhood of New Haven CT is a popular venue for both formal and informal gatherings.

What makes Lighthouse Point Park such a great destination for parties? The Location!

Lighthouse Park

I love the beach and easy access to Long Island Sound. The function room is literally on the beach, surrounded by sand on all sides. Party guests can walk on park paths, stroll along the beach or take a quick swim in the Long Island Sound.

Lighthouse Park

The party hall is incredible, too. A single-room function hall is a great for both weddings and corporate gatherings. The raw, industrial feel inside is balanced by the beachfront surroundings and the giant, working carousel inside. How many parties can boast a working carousel?

If ActiveRain were to have a party in CT, Lighthouse Point Park would be the best stop for a fun gathering.

Guilford CT Fireworks - 2011 Fireworks Display Saved!

Guilford CT Fireworks!

The 2011 Guilford Independence Day Fireworks will happen on Saturday July 9th, at 7:30pm (with a rain date of the following day, Sunday July 10th).

Thanks to the efforts of some local residents and community sponsors, the Town of Guilford CT's annual Fireworks Show will happen this year.

As we previously reported, the Town of Guilford cut the fireworks display from their budget earlier in the year. Due to a grassroots fund-raising effort, spearheaded by Guilford residents Adrian Price and Ed Bartlett, the $10,000 needed to fund this year's fireworks display were were raised.

Check out the article on Zip06 about Adrian and Ed's efforts to make this event happen.

I want to extend thanks to everyone who contributed funds to make the 2011 Fireworks Display happen. Credit goes to all the businesses who sponsored the event or provided collection boxes, and to everyone who contributed and helped make this event possible.
