...........because you don't know what path they are walking.
Life can throw you some doozies sometimes. And none of us are immune. Just thought I would let you know that you all are on my heart and mind. When I think of what I am thankful for, I always put my friends and family at the top of the list.
And you just never know when you encounter people during the day, what trials they may be facing. A kind word or a smile may make the difference in someone's life today.
And I am so thankful to be in a business where my customers become my friends and my friends become my customers. I want to be your Realtor for life! After being in the business for over 30 years, it is gratifying to watch as families grow and change. I love being part of the wonderful experience of finding just the right home at each stage in your life.
I thought I would tell you what my assistant, Lisa, has been doing. She has the dreadfully monotonous job of sticking on mailing labels and stamps on all of my correspondence. She decided that she would pray for each person as she sticks the label on the postcards. So you are thought of and prayed for as pieces of mail go out.
Oh, and if you are inclined to pray, please pray for Lisa's mother. She fell almost a month ago and fractured her pelvis. Since then, because of osteoporosis, there have been multiple fractures that have widened. These fractures didn't show up for a couple of weeks because they were probably hairline fractures. So now, she is on complete bedrest in a skilled nursing facility.
I hope you are enjoying the beautiful fall colors. I certainly am.
In the New Testament Paul, compares life to a race several times. Maybe Paul was a runner. There is an analogy there for all of us. Life is a marathon. We must train and be prepared. We must endure.
My Son-in-law, Paul is traveling with a runner who is running from San Francisco to New York City to bring awareness to childhood obesity. The run started out with two runners, but one dropped out for health reasons. Paul is the doctor who attends to the injuries and other heath issues along the way.

My daughter Jennifer, ran a portion of the race with them in Colorado. She is pictured on the left, above.
From the Greeley Tribune:
The sound of tennis shoes hitting blacktop can, to a runner, sound like a metronome - left, right, tick, tock, a rhythm of efficiency meant to melt away those miles.
But to Greeley native Marshall Ulrich, in the first two weeks of Running America '08, it sounded like a death march.
He and Charlie Engle were running across America, and they were trying to do it in record time, in 45 days, at nearly 70 miles a day. It sounds brutal, and it was. Ulrich, 57, knew pain. He had climbed Everest. He had done adventure races that lasted almost two weeks. He was a three-time champion of the Badwater, an ultramarathon across Death Valley, maybe the hottest place on earth, that ended on the summit of Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the lower 48.

1 Corinthians 9:24
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
Run hard, friends!
Honey, I'm HOME!!
I flew in last night from Houston where I've been this past week for my checkup at MD Anderson. I"M FINE!! Still in remission. It's always a relief to hear those words.
I flew out just in time. The skies in Houston were churning and my flight was delayed because of weather. Please keep those people along the Gulf Coast in your prayers.
Cancer is still a scary word to hear, and sadly two more people in our office have been diagnosed in the past couple of months. Both are receiving treatments, but having been there, I know this is a very scary time for them.
On that note, the Oklahoma City Race for the Cure is coming up early in OCtober. Our office puts together a team for this event and my assistant, Lisa, will be running again this year. Anyone wishing to donate to this fine cause can do so here.
ReMax has a wonderful program Called "Sold for the Cure".
What is Sold for the Cure?
Sold for the Cure is an opportunity for RE/MAX Associates to make contributions to their local Komen for the Cure Affiliate with each closed real estate transaction.
How does it work?
Each participating RE/MAX Associate designates homes as Sold for the Cure properties. Once the homes sell, the Associate makes a contribution on behalf of the buyers or sellers.
I'd love to donate to this cause in your name. Let me know!
